Potato Vs Potato is a clicker-based idle game centered on building a potato empire through tapping and automation. Players can participate in events and team up with others to progress, though the game relies heavily on Steam's marketplace economy for monetization. It appeals to those seeking low-commitment incremental gameplay, though some players view it skeptically as part of a broader trend of inventory-focused clicker games.

We realize this update may have arrived a bit late, but fear not! We’re extending the frightful fun for 10 days to make it worth the wait! As a small dev team of just two—our talented graphic designer conjuring up spooky visuals and our dedicated developer coding away in the shadows—we appreciate your patience. In our last update, a little gremlin snuck in and broke the save feature while we were working to fix a pesky issue where two users could end up with the same spud-tacular save on the same computer. But fear not! That issue is now banished, and your old potato score will rise from the grave to return better than ever! Thank you for your support as we continue to sprinkle some Halloween magic into our beloved potato realm! Stay spooky and keep clicking those potatoes! 🧙♂️✨
Due to popular demand, this update now saves the time you have spent in-between game sessions, so if you need to turn the game off, fear not! For you will no longer lose the progress towards your next hero. We have also reset the games ability to give promo heroes again, since there are players who haven't received heroes yet. This will now make sure the player has an inventory before trying to give the promo heroes again. If you have already received the heroes, it will not give them again. Here are the heroes everyone should get. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45138530/870da4fa0d438b1540368c3265501f00d5caa866.png If you encounter any bugs or have any questions, feel free to reach out to us via discord or the community discussions!
Hello potato connoisseurs! This update brings a batch of promo heroes, 6 to be exact, as our way of saying thank you for your patience and being a part of the community. You will only be able to get one set of these heroes, and the promo will not happen again if you decide to trade them away. This does not stop you from trading for them again should you wish to. For now, Sir Happy Sword will come back after reloading the game if you switch to one of your other heroes, but this will change in a future update. This update fixes a lot of back end issues and paves the way forward for future updates. We have migrated the way we save to a new system, and realize there is the possibility of some players losing their potato score, but we did everything in our power to make sure that doesn't happen. In the event that this does happen, don't worry too much about your score, this will be important later but not game breaking. We are working on the Halloween update as well and should be available soon and cant wait to bring it out to you, however, we wanted to prioritize these other changes before moving forward. We are aware of some players not receiving items in the first few rounds of 3 hours and are looking into the reason why this is happening. It seems like it starts working the next day, and we have made a few changes to how this works in hopes that this stops being a problem. Please let us know if you still encounter any problems. Thank you for mashing through the update notes, keep calm and potato on!
