Note: A wonderful friend gifted me a copy of this game. ^^
100 hidden Cats: Pirates is a cozy, hidden object game developed and published by Sons of Welder. Since there is no story here, I'll jump into the gameplay. It's pretty simple. You're on a pirate ship that has been invaded by a giant octopus, and the objective is to find and click on all 100 pirate cats. You use your left mouse button to click on the cats, zoom in and out of the scene using your mouse wheel, and use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move around the screen. There are a total of 100 pirate cats (hence the title) and each is tied with a Steam achievement. (Steam achievements won't count towards a user's global total until the game is out of "Steam is learning about this game".) After you complete the pirate ship, there is a bonus picture of the ship's interior, where there are an additional 30 cats. However, no Steam achievements are tied with them.
Having played quite a lot of these hidden object games, especially the ones that are cat-themed, it's quite a blur to find the good ones. This is my first HOG by this publisher, but I will say that I enjoyed the game very much. The cats are very easy to find to the point where it almost seems too easy. I'm not sure if it's because I have played a lot of these games by now or if the game was designed to be intentionally easy. Still, I enjoyed it very much, and even after finishing the bonus scene, it took me fewer than 10 minutes. The only criticism I would make is that I wish there was the option to choose between full screen and windowed mode. I was only allowed to play the game in full screen mode when I tend to prefer to play games in windowed mode. However, I had no trouble getting all of the achievements.
As for the art, I love this hand drawn style. The cats are especially draw in a cutesy way and I enjoyed looking at the backgrounds. The cats are colored in blue (my favorite color ^^) when you find them, making them quite noticeable.

In regards to music, there are only a couple of tracks. However, they have that pirate theme going on, which is perfect for this game. The music is enjoyable to listen to, and you can adjust the volume in game to your preferred settings.
Overall, would I recommend 100 hidden Cats: Pirates? If you're looking for a fun, easy, hidden object game and enjoy looking for those cutie pirate cats, then this is worth taking a look. It's one of the cat-themed HOGs that I'd recommend, and you can complete it quickly. For the asking price, it is worth it, but you can wait for a sale, and it's in a couple of Steam bundles. ^^
