Neutral review

The positive:
+ Nice lofi music and background sound (rain, machines). + Cute pixel design and UI. + It has a twitch implementation. + Low investment game. + You can decorate your place.
The negative:
- No gameplay & no aim even as an idler. - Money comes really slow (and your panda stops sometimes to enjoy life, no possibility to make him faster). - There is a leaderboard (yeay?) but idk where you can see your score or is it only for twitch streamers?
The neutral:
- If you didn't play the demo and would like to be part of the leaderboard, know that the scores of the demo cary on. - As a mac user (i know, i know) you don't have dock mode so it's basically a game in a vertical window.
My thoughts: Is it worth it as an idler?
I played a lot of idlers. A good idle game starts with a phase where it hooks you. For 20min-2h you unlock things that comes faster and that are "worth it" because the earning increase is rewarding. Here what you unlock are different colors of the starter items and a really slow improvement in earnings. For me it is not worth playing as an idle game, why should I lose my time and energy (which is real life money) for new colors? There is no multiplier per say but you can unlock pandas to help you. They cost 13 000 gold. I will say if it's worth it after unlocking them. But at first glace there is no "laundromat empire" to be built here.
Then who should buy this game?
I see 3 categories of people that could enjoy this one: - Twitch streamers. The game seems to have rewarding implementations for them that would help build their community. I didn't try it but it seems really fun. The communities seems to become panda helpers and they can play with the cat I think. Twitch streamers seem to really be the main customer in mind. - People who aren't bothered with no gameplay or no rewarding increase in money after a while away. There is an earning, let's say that it's just not dopamine release worthy. The achievements seem quite easy to get so even achievement hunters maybe? - Cute decoration enthusiasts. You can decorate your laundromat with a decent amount of cute things. You have benches, separators, vending machines, plants, a cat, machines in different colors and other things. For me this game is a miss as an idler. It takes the definition quite literaly and don't follow what makes the genre interesting. If you want a cute bottom idler with gameplay just play Rusty's or Tiny Pasture. Edit: I unlocked the second panda after 7h30. So now I have a walking panda (the first one) and a running panda (the second one). I think there may be a balance issue here because it took really long to unlock this one and the next one is only 3000 more. Which is strange given that now I have two workers and will be unlocking better machines. Maybe putting the first one at 8000 and the second one at 16000 would make more sense? Also it would give the dilemma of waiting for the 10k coins achievement or unlocking the upgrade.

I love idle games and play many. I was looking forward to this game because of the amazing art style and cute concept, but there are some things that put me off about it. 1. Items have extremely minimal description (sometimes just 1-2 pictograms with numbers on the side, sometimes absolutely nothing), so I'm not fully informed about what I'm buying before I buy it. What do cats do? Can plants add anything to the game? What does the question mark symbol mean? One of my machines broke and then... What? There's no indication if I can fix it, or if Bao Bao will fix it, or anything constructive. I had to go through the forums to learn more about the items and mechanics but I would prefer to find out about these things within the game itself. 2. The UI takes some getting used to which I don't think is a good thing. It should be straightforward and easy to pick up on immediately. I understand if the developer might be going for minimalism or simplicity but at least the menu tabs should have more contrast or visibility. I was stuck in the settings page once (after stepping away from the game for some time and then coming back) and got confused on how to get back to the shop, because I don't think that it is intuitive for the settings and shop to be coupled together. It also took some time to also figure out how to move/delete items. Once you move something anywhere, you cannot immediately pick it up and move it again. You have to exit the move/delete mode and then you can pick it up again. The shop could be organized better as well, maybe categorized. 3. A few times now, I see that Bao Bao has picked up laundry and is just standing outside the dryer. She is stuck there, which means I must have had the game on with absolutely zero progress which is infuriating. I know eventually you can buy more pandas but due to the slow progress, even the first one quite expensive, and how can I even buy the first panda helper if Bao Bao doesn't move at all and generates no income? 4. The camera movement is too slow but somehow gives me motion sickness at the same time. I turned off the "move camera with mouse button" setting, the camera movement is more tolerable with the arrow keys. 5. It would be nice if the customers interacted more with the shop, like actually dropping off and picking things up. The game feels very unfulfilling. Laundry appears out of nowhere and ends up nowhere. Overall I wanted to love the game and I do enjoy the art and music, but it feels like it's just an early access, unfinished game. The panda gets stuck so often that my screen feels like paid wallpaper. I wouldn't recommend it, even though it's an affordable game.
🐼Bao Bao's Cozy Laundromat Review🌸
Bao Bao’s Cozy Laundromat is exactly what the name promises—cozy, relaxing, and overflowing with cuteness. The art style is adorable (those pandas!!!), and I was pleasantly surprised to discover you can get little cats too! It’s the perfect game to have running in the background while studying or working—the soothing rain sounds and chill vibes make it so easy to decompress. At first, your starting panda is a bit on the lazy side lol, and it does take a little time to save up for your first real helper. My tip: focus early on upgrading your washing machines and dryers. Once you get your first panda, things pick up and you can slowly grow your setup. From my experience, I’d recommend about 1 panda per 4 machines to keep things running smoothly! Decorating your laundromat is super fun, and the flower decorations are especially lovely. One small thing I’d love to see improved is being able to remove flowers from on top of machines—currently, I had to delete the whole machine if I wanted to change the decor there. Some wishlist features for the future: the rain is beautiful, but I’d love the option to change the weather—maybe to a nighttime ambience, thunderstorms, windy days, or sunny with the occasional birdsong. And seeing customers come in to drop off and pick up their laundry would be a super cute touch! All in all, for the price, this game is an absolute steal. It’s charming, calming, and packed with personality. Highly recommend for fans of cozy games or anyone who just needs a little peaceful pocket of joy.
