Deskquarium lets you build and customize a living aquascape that sits on your desktop while you work. Fish swim and plants grow in real-time with no maintenance burden—nothing dies, and the lightweight pixel art won't tax your system. It's ideal for anyone wanting ambient relaxation without the responsibility of actual pet ownership.
About this game
Create, customize, and manage your very own 2D aquascape that lives right on your desktop background. Watch your fish swim and plants sway as you work, play, or relax. Adjust the position, resize elements, and fine-tune everything the way you like it.
What players are saying
- Very lightweight, especially if you disable that evil called the steam overlay. Trust me, I'm running a decade-old integrated graphics system.
- Lots of customizations.
- Moveable and resizeable (enough).
- Not a pet sim. Nothing dies. They may as well outlive you and that dirty fishbowl in the corner.
- Has some side tasks to keep you entertained but also safe to completely ignore.
- It has achievements?? (They're barebones, but they're there.)
- A freaking animated delivery truck.
- Dirt cheap. Actually, dirt costs more in my country than this game.
- A fun thing to have at the corner of your desktop while working. Until your procrastinating ass ends up messing around with the aquariums more than working. I totally did not do that.

You can play the demo at itch.io before actually buying.
When you want to have pet fish but doesn't want the hassle, this one is pretty good for its price XD
