Strong Crab is a parkour platformer where you control a one-legged crab navigating obstacle courses with unconventional movement physics. The game emphasizes persistence over punishing difficulty, resetting you to checkpoints rather than forcing extensive replays, as you work toward reuniting with a character named Frank. It appeals to players seeking a charming, accessible challenge that prioritizes exploration and character-driven storytelling over hardcore skill demands.

🎮 Gameplay Mechanics:

🔶 This game tells the story of a crab that shows strength and determination after losing a leg. With only one leg left, it sets out on a journey to find Frank, a two-legged giant known for helping injured creatures. A frog explains this at the start, but if you ignore the story, the game is basically a parkour course where you control a one-legged crab. Because of this, the movement feels awkward and unusual, but that is clearly intentional. There’s a small arrow in front of the crab that shows the direction it’s facing. Pressing the forward key moves the crab in the direction of the arrow, not the camera. You can rotate the arrow using the A and D keys. Since the game focuses heavily on jumping across gaps, there is a leap mechanic as well. Holding the space bar fills a power meter, and the longer you hold it, the farther the crab jumps.

🔷 Before starting the game, I expected it to be like Getting Over It or Only Up, but I was wrong. If you fail a jump, the game sends you back to the point where you made the jump, not all the way back. That alone gave me the motivation to keep going and finish the game, no matter how long it took. Surprisingly, the whole game only lasted about an hour, which was a bit disappointing. Still, the game works well. Even though there’s an “unstuck” option in case the game bugs out, I never had to use it.

📝 Main Pros and Cons:

Pros-
 • Unconventional movement which makes the game a bit different.
 • Auto-save feature works quite well.
 • The level design is decent, as the difficulty stays balanced throughout.

Cons-
 • No proper audio elements.
 • Visually not polished.
 • Very short, approximately an hour or two.

😇 Honest Rating:

🔷 As far as parkour games go, this isn’t a bad choice, especially since it includes an autosave feature. However, the main concern is the price compared to the amount of content- it costs around $6 for just about an hour of gameplay, which feels a bit too much. Because of that, I’d only recommend picking it up during a sale.

The heck was that ending?

You’re a crab with one leg, a dream, and a camera that refuses to rotate because who needs depth perception anyway? 🦀 Every hop is a heroic act, every slip a masterpiece. Against all odds (and gravity), you chase kindness, courage… and Frank. 💙

was expecting a rage game and was pleasantly surprised to see failed jumps set you back to your original spot. there weren't that many difficult jumps and the movement felt good.
