My Virtual Friend places an animated character companion on your desktop that tracks your mouse movements and performs expressive animations as you work or browse. Customize their appearance with clothing options, use built-in reminders for breaks and hydration, or simply let them observe your activities passively. It appeals to those seeking ambient companionship without gameplay demands, combining idle pet mechanics with a functional productivity timer.

About this game

What players are saying

It's exactly what it says it is: a customizable character that looks at the direction of your mouse and does some animations from time to time.
What makes this game good to me are the animations. They make the character feel alive and are satisfying to watch. The clothing options also look good.

Can recommend if you want to have something cute on your screen that you can look at from time to time.

This is dope—it's like having a personal sidekick who watches movies with you, reminds you to drink like an overprotective mom, and just hangs out while you pretend to be productive. Best part? You can make the background disappear, so it doesn't block your actual distractions. 10/10, my new best (and only) friend.

My Virtual Friend is out now!

Hey everyone, After a great Steam Next Fest, I'm happy to say that the full version of My Virtual Friend is now out. Those who played the demo will have already seen Seria, however, we have 3 new friends to accompany you: The gentle businessman Onizuka The steadfast rock Rokku And the lovely girl Aiko All of these come with more voicelines, outfits, and customization, so you can make your own ideal friend. On top of that, we also added a whole bunch of QoL and bugfixes to give you as smooth of an experience as possible. If something does still go wrong, please let us know! The best way to do this is by making a post on the Steam discussion forums, or by joining our Discord server. We will be taking down the demo now that the full game is out, it doesn't really make much sense to have both versions available. The good news is that the full game is very fairly priced, and does feature more of everything as stated above. Thank you to everyone still who tried out our demo and provided us with feedback on how to make the game the best version possible. We hope you enjoy the game as much as we did making it! If you did, please help us and other buyers out as well by leaving a review.

Demo updates: QoL and final demo additions

Hey everyone, This will most likely be our final demo update before the game releases later this week, but we wanted to make sure some critical QoL issues were still addressed. Additions⭐ - Headphone improvements: Before, your headphones only showed up when you were listening to music through a 3rd party application like Spotify. We've now added a toggle however if you want it to only show up when linked to your audio application, or just have it be permanently active. - More outfits: Scarf, bucket hat, and propeller hat {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45469229/2cce16f7f2f580629c3b06b73fb366a8181f0a62.gif Bugfixes🪲 - Reduced black border artifact: We had some visual artifacts that caused your friend to have a black border when running the game in transparent mode. Whilst not entirely gone, we've been able to drastically reduce this. Removing it entirely will be hard as we are now running into issues with Unity and the Windows API preventing further improvements. - Improved visuals: We forgot to tick the anti-aliasing box, whoops - Other transparency improvements: Certain black-colored materials (such as glasses) became transparent instead of black when running the game in transparent mode. We hope you've enjoyed the demo until now, and I'd like to say thank you once again to everyone who left a review on the demo or posted in our Steam discussions, it helped us a lot in making the game even better. If you haven't done so yet, feel free to share any further thoughts and comments with us, so we can make the v1 launch even better!
