Monkey Wave pairs frantic clicking with wave-based combat as you protect your bananas from increasingly hostile primates. Manage cooldowns on special abilities while grinding through solo matches or teaming up with others, with competitive PvP offering a harder challenge for those seeking to test their reflexes and strategy against real opponents.

Honestly, I only picked up this game to play with my little brother to mess him up, and now we're both obsessed. It moves absurdly quickly and is insane, where one second you're sweating your ass off trying to stay alive in co-op mode, and the next you're pitted against each other spamming monkeys just to ruin each other's games.

I absolutely adore how short and quick the rounds are. You get caught up in the "just one more game" mindset and before you know it, two hours have gone by. The maps are so cute, but don't be fooled because the actual matches themselves are complete madness.

It's easily the most fun I've had playing games with my brother in years.

Monkey Wave doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it really doesn't need to. It’s energetic, colorful, and knows exactly what it is. The core loop is incredibly tight and perfectly nails that dangerous "just one more round" feeling that will keep you glued to your monitor.

If you're jumping in fresh, or if you played the demo like I did, you won't be disappointed. I couldn't be happier with my purchase of the full version. The extra content feels genuinely refreshing, giving the gameplay the long-term variety it needs. What really elevates the experience, though, are the new abilities. They make the matches significantly more dynamic, forcing you to adapt on the fly rather than relying on a single basic strategy.

Nowhere is this more obvious than in Versus Mode. The PvP here is genuinely mean-spirited in the best way possible. Watching someone choke on a massive wave of monkeys you just sent them delivers a very specific, slightly toxic kind of joy. Throwing the new abilities into the mix turns those mind games up to eleven. And when the roles are reversed? The urge to instantly hit "rematch" is frankly embarrassing.
It takes an already addictive, tight concept and builds a proper, chaotic experience around it.

Highly recommended.
