Game Renaming and a Brand‑New Demo Experience
115 days agoHi, everyoneWhen the project first started, we wanted to make a different kind of desktop idle game, so I wrote the following definition in Obsidian:Idle fishing + ocean exploration + boat decorationIn April 2025 we formed a three-person team to begin development. After a few months, we released a demo, titled "Fishing Worldwide Desktop”.From the name, you could tell: idle fishing + ocean exploration — but the gameplay was basically just fishing in one spot, then moving to the next, which felt a bit simple and direct.🎣 After another three months of development, the game's atmosphere and content gradually grew richer, so we decided to pick a more fitting name. Now: Fishing Tales: Neko's Journey Original: Fishing Worldwide DesktopIn the game, you play as a striped orange cat who wants to go above the legendary rainbow to catch the fabled fish, and so your journey begins. On this idle voyage you meet companions, collect supplies (and... trash) from the sea, build a large ship to live and travel with your friends, fish across the world, and ultimately reach your destination. The demo update includes many rich additions. Major changes are as follows:You’ll have a large ship for building and placing the items you obtain.Added a fish pond where you can merge and upgrade fish to get bigger returns. The map now gradually expands/unlocks from small to large.Added a weather system.Added a fishing route system.Other notable updates:Adjusted fishing attributes, switching to a simpler probability-based system.Added fish rarities and spawn times.Tweaked functions in the settings.Click the timer to toggle between auto-fishing and manual fishing.Additionally, content for the full release is currently in development and will be available soon — please stay tuned.
