For someone who loves plants this game does a fantastic job of simulating the experience of spending time in the garden. It has a charming soundtrack which just adds to the ambience. I will spend hours in this game no doubt, but after 2 hours in i feel like im just getting started. Very pleasant experience. Great job to the devs ><.
Looking for a chance to sit down, get your (digital) hands dirty and watch some grass grow? Well Planticulture is out now! Planticulture is a hand-drawn little gardening sandbox/simulator where you have up to 15 plants to unlock, a range of decorations to buy, and some critters to come visit. Each plant has different needs and properties, and by learning how they work you can create the best conditions for each plant to grow! What can you do in Planticulture?Use the tools to work in your garden and tend to the needs of your plantsFill out a journal by collecting photos of plants and critters when you see themSell seeds to buy decorations, to design your garden and even attract some critters to come visitPull out weeds!Feed plants and weeds back into the circle of life with compostFast forward time to watch things grow, or freeze it to relax and enjoy what you've madeWhile you garden, you can also enjoy the lovely music by Ethan Morosi and Zak Oskar Finnemore. What's Next? While Planticulture has been released as a full game, there were many features and ideas that had to be cut for time. Look out for new updates in the future that'll add more plants, critters, and decoration, more tools and mechanics, and new ways to really make the garden your own! And of course, while playtesting and bug hunting efforts before launch helped fix many issues, there's no doubt that more will crop up as new people play the game. Patches and fixes will be on the way for these, too!If you've been playing, and have either found an issue or want to make a suggestion, you can share that in a few different places;...The general feedback form,...The bug report form,...And the Hats in the Night Discord! (There's also the discussion boards here on Steam!)And Finally...I want to give my greatest thanks to the people who have helped and supported me on this journey- first to the CanDev community, who's playtesting, feedback, and support kept me going through this whole process. Hello everyone! First of all, I want to give my greatest thanks to all the people that have wishlisted and followed Planticulture, as well as given the demo a shot. Knowing that there are people interested in this game, even if it's just cursory, really means a lot to me! Second of all, it's only as of tonight that I've stumbled across the posts in the community hub for this game- it turns out Steam doesn't send out notifications about that, so I didn't realise they were there! I haven't had a chance to do more than a quick glance over them yet, but I can see that some feedback has been left on the demo, and I want to thank those people for taking the time to write it! I'll be properly reading and responding as soon as I can. Hopefully I've addressed some of the issues, and I'll take careful note of ones I still need to work on.Now, onto the main part of this; there has been plenty of feedback that I have seen, and it's been really valuable in working on the game! The balance with the rain and dryness has been a big point I'm aware of as an issue, and that's been the primary focus of this update. The other thing is an ongoing issue I'm always working towards fixing, and that's the communication and clarity for how to play the game. I've made some small tweaks on that front, but making a lot of updates and fixes for that will be the priority of the next update.Change LogGameplay and BalancingRebalanced rain amount and duration; it should now rain much less often and for less time. Additionally, there's some more work behind the scenes to balance how much dry grass there is at any point; and rain won't be able to get rid of all the dry grass available. The introductory part of the game has been streamlined a little; there's now guaranteed dry grass when a new garden is created, and the compost starts off with most of what you need to get it going.Compost goes twice as far as it used to- so while you'll still need to use it for new plots, and sometimes for fertility, it...
