118 minutes to clear, grinded a bit wow that was short... but very good on the other hand. To be fair it has some replay value with the other char so its maybe 4 hours to clear both. Good game a bit pricey to me.
genuinely - I'm 90% certain this is AI slop. First of, how the attack range is coded is super weird. Certain towers have lower attack range than others simply because sprites attack other sprites and not because an enemy is at position xy. That means in practice that certain towers (seems to be always be the lower right one for enemy spawn reasons) are outranged by enemies because their sprite goes _upwards_ like creatures standing on 2 legs usually do. Means the upper towers have an advantage, the lower ones are just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you don't buy range upgrades and *spoiler* at some point there are none left so you gotta improvise. All because of stupid sprite shinanigans.
The quality of all animations varies heavily, the skill tree is kind of cool and kind of always the same because upgrades are just copy pasted everywhere at some point. Performance towards the endgame sucks balls with huge frame spikes. Some UI stuff is also pretty telling like the "Wave" you start at from the upgrade screen has a second "Wave x/8" counter which looks super awkward and just got reused _maybe without noticing_ from other upgrade dialogs.
Also sometimes attacks just "miss" but not because there is a dodge stat or something in the game. It's just the attacks being applied to sprites again instead of actual enemy positions.
idk man there is other stuff to talk about but I'll leave it at what I already threw a tantrum over. If this ain't vibecoded I got a girlfriend. Go figure what's more likely.
Good thing is this can be completet in under 2 hours so try this and make up your own mind without fear of throwing money away
Even when you "do everything right" certain enemies wander outside the target zone and you watch your towers slowly die while your character whifs at thin air.
Don't get wowed by the pretty pixel graphics, this game is mid and the bugs destroy any sense of mediocre fun that could be had.
