Pat the Cat gives you a persistent desktop companion that rewards simple interactions like petting and feeding with in-game currency to unlock cosmetics. The game's appeal lies in its low-friction idle mechanics paired with deep customization options, making it ideal for players who want a cozy, non-demanding presence on their screen rather than a challenging gameplay loop.

It already packs a lot of interactions, and it's very cute, and very animated if I compare it to desktop pets I tried previously. I think it's awesome that I can make it watch the screen for example, to watch a show together. You can in fact also pet it as the title suggests. Or make it wander around/make it respond to keyboard typing. But you always need to click/decide on one interaction at a time. For example, I can't pet the cat while it's watching TV or wandering about. Maybe you could sort of randomize them, that the cat does different things as I continue to work. Regardless of this, and my suggestion below, I would definitely say for the price, it's perfectly fine, and a wholesome companion if you like cats.
Now, for the gameplay suggestion, I am copy-ing this here from discussions, because you can never be sure that dev's read those:
I think desktop applications like these could function well as multi-tools for even greater impact. Or maybe I'm just a sucker for combining cute with functional. - Option to set a hydration reminder. Maybe just a water-bottle icon that appears above the cat at player-set intervals. - Could expand this to have multiple different icons (have their own selection in shop), depending on the human owner's needs. Something like pills to take at a set local time? - And for a little chaos: Let the cat have multi media controls? Not sure how difficult that'd be to code, but If it doesn't like a song it gets to skip to the next at a minor RNG roll? With an opt-out option because not everyone wants a lifelike cat.
