Fun concept with a lot of potential, but it needs some important improvements
Overall, your idea for the game is fun and good. It has a satisfying core loop and I can definitely see the potential here. But for it to achieve higher success, I think it needs quite a few changes and quality-of-life improvements...
First, I’d really like a sell option for Production, Distribution, and Pricing, especially for players like me who have ADHD and OCD. A cleaner and more manageable system would make the experience much better.
The sound design also needs work in some areas. The current sound effect is actually good for the “Sell Food” button, but the “Generate Food” button should have a separate sound so both actions feel distinct and more satisfying... Also, the garbage bag and Coke bottle sound effects are honestly not appealing at all and should be replaced with something better. On top of that, the walking and jumping sounds of the character could also be improved.
I think the game would feel much more immersive if more objects were interactable... Things like the bed, table fan, pizza box, chair, microscopes, and other items in the room should do something instead of just being there. A small extra feature like a paper ball mini-game near the table would also add some good immersiveness...
The game could really benefit from an Ascend/Prestige system too, so progression feels deeper and there’s more reason to keep playing for upgrades.
One of my biggest issues is the world message system. Right now, it’s super annoying. Messages disappear too quickly, and once they’re gone, you can’t read them again. A much better system would be something like a notification button, similar to games like Cities: Skylines, where all past messages can be checked anytime.
Another cool immersion feature would be allowing players to write a journal while sitting at the table, just to track daily progress in a more personal way. Also, it would be satisfying if the PC made sounds while generating and selling food even when we are away, so the factory feels alive in the background.
There should also be an option to turn the room light on and off using the switchboard near the trash bag.
There are also at least two bugs that need fixing:
You can see stuff on the table if you look at it from below.
The Coke bottle disappears when you hit it against the roof or wall.
The pricing system also seems broken. I set my price to 10K, but it still sells for something like 10 dollars or so, which makes no sense. On top of that, the balance between Production and Distribution feels off. Either production should be slower, or distribution should be faster, because right now it doesn’t feel balanced properly.
Overall, I do like the game and I think the core idea is genuinely enjoyable. That’s exactly why I’m giving all this feedback... because it has potential to become much better with some polish, balancing, bug fixes, and more satisfying interaction.
EDIT: The game also really needs an auto-save feature, because if the electricity goes out or the game crashes, losing all progress and starting from scratch feels very frustrating.
