Warning: AI Slop

Marketing materials for this product were produced with soulless AI generated content.

Note: Dead PvP game

This game contains no meaningful single player content. There's no viably populated servers/active player population. This game cannot be played as intended.

Warning: Asset Flip!

This low effort game is mostly made from flipped/plagiarized store assets and contains little original content.

Truck Clash Duel is a fairly basic Unity asset flipped top down vehicle arena shooter with no players, and vehicles ripped off from Synty Studio's Polygon asset packs, all dumped on a basic Unity top down shooter/arcade vehicle driving game blueprint. The map layouts seem to be original? But yeah... this is a bunch of other people's game assets with a price tag on it.

Two notable criteria for what makes an asset flip instead of legitimate use of stock assets are whether those assets comprise the majority of the game, and whether the "developer" properly credited the people who created most of the assets in the game. This game fails both of those tests. The "developers" here didn't credit any of the artists and real, actual game developers who created the assets here, so this is plagiarism, as well as cash grab shovelware.

There's a multiplayer (PvP/Co-Op) focus to the game, so you need to co-ordinate with your friends to play this... I guess that's easier for the developer than making a compelling single player experience. Creating content is hard! Why bother?

Like I always say, if the only thing that makes a game fun is your friends, that just proves it's fun to spend time with your friends, and doesn't say much for the game at all.

Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.

There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.

The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts.

PC gamers will be insulted by the demand from the developer that a console peasant children's toy controller should be used, despite this being on PC. Developers should try to be aware which platform they're developing for, and must never, under any circumstances dictate to gamers how their games are to be experienced.

These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.

The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.

This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name.

On to pricing and the question of value. Should you buy this asset flip? Is this one of the best of the 140,000+ products on Steam? Absolutely not.

Truck Clash Duel is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.

Profile Features Limited!
Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.

Truck Clash Duel is a tightly focused arcade-style vehicular combat game that embraces simplicity, speed, and direct competition above all else. Developed by Gaseous Cat Games and co-published with S399TEAM, the game positions itself as a modern throwback to classic couch multiplayer experiences, where the fun comes not from elaborate progression systems or sprawling content, but from raw player skill and immediate, face-to-face rivalry. From the moment a match begins, the game makes its intentions clear: this is about fast reactions, aggressive driving, and outplaying the person sitting next to you, not grinding for unlocks or navigating complex menus.

At its core, the experience revolves around one-on-one duels between heavily armed trucks in compact arenas. Matches are short, intense, and score-driven, with players earning points by destroying their opponent repeatedly within a limited timeframe or round structure. The controls are intentionally straightforward, allowing new players to grasp the basics within seconds, yet there is enough nuance in movement, positioning, and timing to reward practice and mastery. Momentum plays a significant role in each duel, as a single successful attack can quickly snowball into a scoring streak if the opponent fails to recover and reposition effectively.

The vehicular combat itself strikes a balance between chaos and control. Trucks feel weighty enough to give collisions and impacts a satisfying sense of force, yet responsive enough to allow quick turns, evasive maneuvers, and aggressive pursuit. Positioning within the arena becomes just as important as aiming or attacking, with smart use of space often determining the outcome of a duel. Because there are no long-term upgrades or stat advantages, every match feels fair and competitive, placing the emphasis squarely on player decision-making and reflexes rather than pre-match preparation.

Visually, Truck Clash Duel adopts a clean, arcade-inspired presentation that prioritizes clarity over spectacle. The camera angle ensures that both players remain visible at all times, reinforcing the head-to-head nature of the experience and preventing confusion during high-speed encounters. Effects are punchy without being overwhelming, helping players quickly read what is happening on screen even as explosions and collisions fill the arena. This clarity is especially important in split-screen play, where readability can make or break the competitive flow.

One of the game’s strongest aspects is its commitment to local multiplayer. Designed primarily for split-screen duels, it captures the immediacy and social energy of classic competitive games, where victories and defeats are shared in real time. Support for Steam Remote Play Together extends this concept beyond the couch, allowing players to recreate the same intense confrontations online without sacrificing the split-screen format. This flexibility makes the game easy to bring into casual gatherings, quick competitive sessions, or friendly rivalries that thrive on short, repeatable matches.

That said, the game’s laser-focused design also defines its limitations. With no single-player campaign, AI tournaments, or long-term progression systems, its longevity depends almost entirely on how much players enjoy repeating the core duel experience. For those who prefer structured goals, narrative context, or a sense of ongoing advancement, the content may feel sparse. However, this minimalism is clearly intentional, reflecting a design philosophy that values purity of competition over breadth of features.

Ultimately, Truck Clash Duel succeeds by knowing exactly what it wants to be and refusing to dilute that vision. It delivers a compact, energetic, and highly replayable experience built around direct competition and skill-based play. While it may not offer the depth or variety of larger vehicular combat games, it excels as a fast, accessible, and satisfying duel-focused title. For players who miss the thrill of immediate, no-frills multiplayer battles and value skill over progression, Truck Clash Duel offers a sharp and entertaining experience that thrives on rivalry and momentum.
