If you’re looking for a cozy and relaxing winter-themed HOG game, Christmas Across America is a wonderful choice. Set during the holidays, it follows a regular family visiting relatives while Santa and his elves eagerly prepare for Christmas. The game captures the holiday spirit beautifully, with a festive atmosphere and cheerful seasonal music.

The hidden object scenes are beautifully detailed and offer multiple ways to search: by name lists, silhouettes, or parts of objects’ images. Each location also hides extra cookies to pick up and a postcard to add to a collection album. Coins earned from completing scenes can be spent on unlocking items to decorate your very own Christmas room.

The game keeps things very much stress-free: there’s no penalty for misclicks, and two types of hints help you along the way. One reveals a single random item, while the “super hint” shows all remaining items in the scene. Both recharge quickly and independently of each other, so you’re never left stuck. Postcards and cookies aren’t covered by the hints, but the game makes collecting them a pleasant, leisurely task that you’d engage in if you’re aiming for 100% completion.

Achievements are also very manageable. You’ll be required to collect all postcards and cookies and complete every minigame. Scenes can be revisited for missed items, and skipping a minigame doesn’t invalidate the corresponding achievement as long as you complete it again afterwards. Only six hidden object scenes require completion without hints, and there are no stressful achievements requiring you to find several objects in mere seconds.

With 38 hidden object scenes and 23 minigames in the main game, there’s plenty to explore, enough to keep you busy for 4-6 hours. Aside from that, the bonus content that is included with the Collector’s Edition allows you to play another 18 minigames and offers access to a music player where you can listen to the festive tracks played during the game.

It's such a cozy Hidden Object with multiple minigames centered around Christmas, the community, the holidays, the decorations, the warmth and the fun. Players don't just help Santa deliver gifts to children (first part of the game), they also relive the nostalgic feel of their childhood (second part).

PROS:
- Finding diverse items, spotting the differences, arranging the panels, rotating the circles and so much more;
- When completing a stage, points turn into coins to buy certain decorations;
- Eye-pleasing colors and ambiance;
- Collecting chocolate chip cookies and Christmas mail to form an album;
- There's a hint and there's a Super Hint (this one circles all the items you don't see, but quickly fades);
- Easy to learn mechanics;
- Easy to medium difficulty to obtain achievements.

TIP:
- Have a hot dense choco nearby and play it slowly to enjoy the vibe.

CONS:
- The achievements don't have images. There are just blank squares.
