A very early review for what I hope to be a smooth ride
Coming from having 100% completed the other 2 idlers of the same dev and spent enough time with the demo to instantly unlock 21 achievements upon start, I feel right back at home. You get, like in the other games from this dev, a few flaws:
- Quite a lot of typos
- Convoluted stats that I hope will make sense to a less smooth-brained player than me
- Gear that seems to come straight from an adventure game. If I was a detective and EVER needed a stake, eyeball or magic flask to do my detecting, I would question my sanity
Nevertheless does it have ample unlockables, at least one fun prestige system, and achievements out the wazoo. And I hope or another forge system to maybe combine eyeballs and tentacles into the mighty Cthulhu (+500 Int, -999 sanity) or something like that. Then at least I would feel like solving crimes while hiking the mountains of madness.
I will change my review if I find something glaringly bad, and already presume you shouldn't buy this if you expect deep strategy or great lore. But if you're like me and just like to watch number going up for the old 'dorphins, then give it a go. It's a very fair price, and the demo already gives you a good taste of what's to come.
