Pickochet combines incremental progression with physics-based mining: you deploy bouncing pickaxes that ricochet across the screen to extract ore, then spend earnings on upgrades and new abilities. The game unfolds across multiple mining sites with increasing complexity, offering a brief but complete idle experience for players who enjoy watching automation systems evolve.

I recommend this IF:
1. you get it on special
2. you really enjoy barebones incremental games

CONS:
- there's no end to the game, you just sort of get all of the upgrades and that's it
- every level you're basically restarting, you carry over general upgrades and abilities yes - which makes it go a tad bit faster, but you really don't scale much, it's still a slog to complete the upgrade tree on each level
- most abilities are useless, you'll find 3 or 4 and use those the whole game
- there was a lot of automation potential that wasn't used e.g. the clicking mechanism
- the trivial achievements, and lack of ending, make me feel like this was rushed out or sort of half-baked as a game
- idk why the upgraded ores weren't carried over to each level, sort of makes it useless to upgrade them at a certain point.

Pickochet is finally here and it was so worth the wait!! Its crazy how much has been added since the demo, and the game has had such cool upgrades! I loved the demo and had a lot of fun playing it and am so excited to have so much more gameplay, more features and more abilities to play with! 10/10 recommend trying this game. BRING ON THE GOBLINS!!

Pretty fun game, lots of interesting abilities like dice rolls, piggy banks and some more generic stuff like crit chance passives and bombs and stuff. The random events are cool too, the help with some of the more grindy parts of the game.

Patch #1

Thanks for playing PickochetBefore talking about this patch we just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has played Pickochet since release. It's been so awesome seeing the response to the game. We also want to thank everyone who has taken the time to report bugs and provide us with feedback. This patch is about fixing some of those bugs and addressing some of the feedback we have got. Here's what we did: Changes:- Fixed one dice ability text displaying incorrect number outcomes - Fixed spelling of boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom boom achievement description - Updated dice roll achievement to be easier to unlock based on player feedback (get max roll on any dice). We clearly missed the mark on this one! - Disabling item popup no longer disables the items falling in the UI background - Added toggle for items falling in the game UI backgrounds - Added toggle for moving menu background - Added 4k resolution option - Added tabs to settings menu for better organisation - Show locked ability slots in UI to better indicate their existence - Added configuration screen that pops up the first time a player launches the game - Added locked & unlocked text to event button to better communicate its state - kron & drunkengoat :)

DEMO UPDATE (1st June)

It's time for another update! We've fixed a few things, tweaked a few things, and added a few things. Here's the breakdown. If you want to suggest feedback or report bugs to us feel free to join our Discord:https://discord.gg/Q9G2ebdNf7Steam AchievementsWe've been experimenting with Steam achievements for the full game so why not bring a couple to the demo? We've added the following achievements:Meet the ElderDestroy 1k Ore1 MILLIONMountain MineshaftOMG!If you should've unlocked these achievements already then they should unlock when you launch the game for the first time after the update with the exception of OMG as we had no way to track that previous to this update, sorry!New ContentWe've got a few new things for you!A new bomb ability has been added to the pickaxe tree. Rather than a small sprinkling of random bombs, this is a bomb you can place to cause a massive explosion on those pesky blobs of ore.The Ghost Pickaxe can now be unlocked in the pickaxe tree. Previously only available through the pickaxe crate ability or dice roll. You can now unlock the chance for bonus picks to sometimes spawn as a special ghost pickaxe instead! Real scary stuff. Visual ChangesWe have changed some things, visually. We thought the old grey background needed an uplift. We've got a new background with a different colour per menu/location, with slightly slower movement and bigger squares to make it less distracting. We have also changed the font on the popup/damage text. It's now a little easier to read but not quite where we want it to be - we'll likely change it again before release but we hope it's an improvement for now.Full changelog+ added steam achievements+ added steam stats+ added big bomb ability to demo+ added special ghost pickaxe to demo+ added new background+ added unique colour backgrounds for each location / UI menu+ added credits menu+ added option for toggling goblin noise= updated popup text font= update pickaxe upgrade tooltips to be more in line with our improved...
