Defrag Incremental wraps idle progression around the nostalgic fantasy of optimizing computer systems. You manage disk fragmentation through multiple jobs, selecting algorithms and managing heat damage while your automation runs offline. Between contracts, you restart to unlock permanent BIOS upgrades that improve efficiency across subsequent runs—appealing to players who enjoy both the meditative rhythm of incremental games and retro computing aesthetics.

Day 1 Stability Update. Major Launch Issues Fixed

The first 24 hours of Defrag Incremental were rougher than I intended. Some players encountered bugs that could disrupt or completely block their first runs. This was not the experience I wanted the game to provide, and I am sorry. I have spent the first day reviewing your reports and fixing the most important launch issues. A new stability update is now live. Fixes and improvements include:• Fixed several blocking bugs that could prevent players from continuing their runs.• Fixed the workday sometimes starting twice.• Fixed duplicated day-start messages and animations.• Changed how workday time advances so that it better matches the in-game clock.• Fixed several issues affecting the workday timer and reboots.• Interrupted disks now grant partial Reboot Charge based on their completion progress.• Fixed the save and load system.• Fixed the General tab of the BIOS.• Fixed the Options menu unexpectedly switching the game to an extremely small window.• Fullscreen mode now correctly restores the monitor resolution.• Reworked the windowed resolution options.• Improved support for 16:10 aspect ratios.• Fixed inconsistent Reboot Charge requirements shown in different panels.• Improved the end-of-day interface at common screen resolutions.• Fixed several smaller progression and interface issues affecting early runs. The game should now provide a much smoother and more reliable experience. I am continuing to review every report and work on the remaining balance, usability, and technical issues. Thank you to everyone who reported these problems in detail, and thank you for your patience and for playing Defrag Incremental.

Demo Update #1!! Pause Options, Clearer Workday Clock and UI Fixes

The first demo update for Defrag Incremental is now live. This update is mostly focused on early player feedback from the demo: making the workday easier to read, reducing friction when checking menus, fixing audio issues, and improving a few UI details. Thanks a lot to everyone who has played the demo and shared feedback. It is helping a lot.ChangesAdded pause the workday timer when opening purchase menus or selecting a new disk. The original behavior can still be enabled again from the Options menu.Changed the workday progress display into a clock.Minutes are now visible, making it easier to judge how much time is left in the day.The end of day report now waits for a mouse click before closing.Moved the Options menu to the main UI so it is easier to find.Fixed a bug where the defrag sound keep playing after the disk was no longer being defragmented.Fixed the same bug with defrag related messages in the lower message feed.Renamed "Main Menu" to "Management".Added an "Are you sure?" confirmation panel before leaving the BIOS.Fixed typos and minor bugs.NotesThe new pause option is meant to support different play styles. Some players may prefer the original version, where time keeps moving to maintain tension. Others may prefer a more background-friendly experience where they can safely read upgrades, compare disks or browse menus. You can choose the behavior from the Options menu.More demo updates will follow as I keep collecting feedback. Thanks again for playing.
