Holding Pattern strips incremental gameplay down to its essentials: earn cash by defeating enemies, buy upgrades like moons and abilities, and discover synergistic builds across multiple modes. The core loop of defeat-strengthen-retry offers satisfying progression in both a campaign-style incremental mode and an escalating endless variant, with a roguelike option for those seeking higher stakes. Best suited for players who appreciate tight, uncomplicated design over complex systems.

i really love this game i would recommend it to ever one it don't have any bugs that i know of and i have played it hours, and i can't wait for more game content also it would help if you did join the discord they're really nice ;)
Short but Sweet. Incremental Mode is basically the campaign sadly when finished save gets deleted. So be ready for that.
Endless Mods gets ridiculous fast and is what i like about the game most so far.
Have not yet tried rouge-like.
Speed Multi of 2 is still a bit slow for my taste, Standard speed is really slow. What is bad for me, but good for people that want a more relaxed experience or can not react as fast for whatever reason.
Overall a good game if on the slower side for a incremantel.
This is not a complex game. The game loop is simple, and strategy is minimal. What Holding Pattern is is satisfying. Blow stuff up, get blown up, get stronger, try again. The pacing is nearly perfect. I expect to be caught in this Holding Pattern (see what I did there?) for a very, very long time.
Holding Pattern will be discounted by 30% during the Steam Summer Sale (25 Jun - 9 Jul). Make sure to pick up a copy at our lowest price ever! Howdy space cowboys,We've been releasing updates over the weekend to fix any pesky bugs you've been facing on your mission to save planet Earth. I've compiled a list of changes here, with more to come over the upcoming days.Patch Notes:Buffed lightning stun duration from 0.2s -> 0.3s.Fixed an issue where multiple moons can be acquired by replaying boss levels in endless mode.Updated moon spawn rate in endless mode from every 5 levels to every 10 levels (this means you will unlock the final moon on level 70, instead of level 40).Fixed an issue where save files were deleted after beating incremental ascension 6, your save file can now stay with you forever if you so choose. The windowed experience should now be better. The game will no longer force update your window size when you start a game. The game will load in windowed mode by default.Fixed a bug where moons don't load properly in endless modeFixed a bug where moons don't save properly in endless modeFixed a bug where music doesn't loopFixed an issue with money being added to the balance before the debrief. This lead to an issue where it seemed you were earning less than you actually were.Necromancer skill no longer automatically activates if no enemies are in rangeWe have been overwhelmed with the reviews so far, it seems like for the most part everyone has been enjoying the game, and the bugs have been fairly limited. Thank you so much for all the support we have received for the game, we hope to keep delivering patches and some (small) future content in return.Keep those planets safe,Matt
Hey galactic defenders! It's already been 24 hours since Holding Pattern launched on Steam! We see you have been enjoying the game so far, but we noticed a few issues popping up, especially for MacOS users! We're releasing a day 1 patch to help with this, but we also have questions for you!Patch notesFixed MacOS skill tree bug, where you cannot upgrade skills or move the tree around using the mouse.Fixed an issue where the 'windowed' settings option would not saveAdded 'no cash' and 'no damage' options to settings. Turn these on if you find the cash or damage markers too annoying, and want a cleaner game! We see there are a few other, minor bugs people have discovered, and we will be looking into those in the coming days!New SkillsWe're going to release a few new skills across the coming days, in particular to enhance the late-game experience. We are taking suggestions you might have for fun skills, so be sure to reply to this with any great ideas for skills you would like to see implemented in the game and you might see them added. We are also planning to release some branches to the incremental mode that will lock other skill options, meaning you have to select wisely from a set of skills (this won't impact any existing skills). Get involved and let us know what you want to see!Keep those planets save,Matt
