Penguin Capitalism Simulator

That's exactly it: a very simple and relaxing game made by a solo dev with love (and with a touch of sarcasm and the developer’s humor). Don't expect a ton of upgrades and options - that's not the point. You just have to go with the flow and rediscover the joy of a simple clicker/idle and polished game.

Pros:
- It was so enjoyable to have a novel simple gaming experience (it reminded me of the good old days, so thanks a lot) - It takes about 15 hours to complete a first playthrough and unlock all the achievements, which is good.
- It was a perfect balance of interaction for such a clicker game (there's a bit of a wait at the end to reach the final goal, but I actually enjoyed that wait while watching my penguins). I did the first run without using the integrated cheat codes (like the autoplay mode), and I would interact from time to time, in between other things I was doing. That balance was perfect.
- The autoplay mode is cool. I used it for the prestige runs (once you've finished the game and unlocked all the achievements, you can progress through “prestige” - it's basically new runs that are a little faster because the upgrades are cheaper). It was actually fun (and a bit relaxing) to just watch the game play itself in a corner (runs are fun to see for a few times, except that, prestige doesn't add much)
- The idea is fun, and penguins are cute. I love the black-and-white style, and the nice retro style for the overlay window.
- The overlay mode window can be moved anywhere and scaled as desired, perfect when you're doing something else on the computer.
- Weird discovery but huge bonus for the controller support which is super well integrated (navigation within the game and through the menu is surprisingly smooth for a clicker game of this kind - bonus points for the sarcastic messages that pop up when you disconnect the controller mid-game!)
- Optimization+++!!! The game runs perfectly on a PC without a graphics card, even at the end of the game with tens of thousands of penguins!

Cons:
- The prestige system doesn’t offer much (but prestige isn't even mentioned in the game description - the 15 hours mentioned to reach 100% completion are there, and that experience is very pleasant and worth the 6 bucks I spent)

Good little idle/progressive game. I liked that fact it is easily completable compared to some that can take years, or be indefinite.

I like the autoplay, autofish and autoclock options.

cons:
Unsure why it is black and white for 99% of the game
The jump from the penultimate penguin goal to the final one is a lot larger than the rest.

As a chill desktop experience with on point sarcastic Easter eggs, it's quite simple but pretty enjoyable. But if you feel like Sir Clickalot going on a crusade, you might get a finger injury.
+ Bears and penguins are pretty cool, just chilling out there (puns intended). Some penguins are even fashionable.
+ No story, but contextual humorous or even sarcastic Easter eggs (in the menu, when you unplug your controller, etc.) which are a joy to discover.
+ The UI is great, and I really appreciate that you can choose between full screen, windowed and overlay.
+ The use of cheat codes feels so vintage and enjoyable <3
- The clicker experience, without cheat codes, feels pretty long and repetitive (a little over 21000 brainless clicks for first completion). However, it should not be considered as the main way to experience the game.
- Scaling is strange. I would have given the special penguins (penguins haute couture!) a X2 multiplier (multiplicative as in X2/X4/X8/...), and not a +1 multiplier (additive) as in X2/X3/X4/... What can I say, I like numbers going up! ;-)
- Price tag may be a little too high compared to other games in the genre (but certainly not a robbery).
