Dear Incremental Sufferrers! I know it tooks some time for to return with Kopernicus demo update - but here it is (and also the demo which is coming out on October 7th is almosi here). In the meantime, I wanted to share something a little different: a behind-the-scenes look at the artistic constraints I've imposed on myself while making Kopernicus. So like with every game I start with the sketchbook. But then I go like: No rotation. Three colors. 480 × 270 pixels. Why make life easier when you can make it incrementally more difficult? If that gifs made you curious - here's an expanded verion of tough life of pixel artis and Eyes That See Both Ways (his pet): If you're willing to sing up for the playtest please use the form below: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeBT8KZuiybhZ-uvtQbpJemqYyYOW71u6eL27itJHdyZhDuXw/viewform Stay warm this Autumn.🔥 Let's make this experience less suffering together! My dear friends, I’ve just returned from Kyoto, where I had the pleasure of announcing my game during BitSummit14. Thank you to everyone among the 68,000 visitors who took the time to visit my booth and play Kopernicus: Extraction. I also want to thank you for all the feedback you shared with me. Thanks to your comments, I’m sure the demo coming to Steam will be much better.ːsteamthisːThis was already another time I’ve visited Kyoto, and I definitely don’t regret coming back. During the day I spent time among players and fellow developers, and in the evenings by the Kamo River, in Pontocho Alley, and visiting Biovortex. ːsteamhappyː But now it’s time to return to Kraków and get back to intense work (occasionally interrupted by walks with Gary). If you’d like to see more from the festival, you can watch the video below: I hope you’ll stay here for longer, because I’m planning to share more development videos where I’d like to talk about the process of creating the graphics, monsters, and memory illustrations.Stay warm, Simon (& Gary)
