Pending Approval tasks you with climbing a surreal bureaucratic hierarchy by completing and signing endless forms, with automation and prestige mechanics driving progression. The core loop alternates between active clicking and idle gains, though players note the prestige system functions more as a tech tree than a full reset. The satirical premise and early-game charm appeal to incremental fans willing to overlook UI roughness and occasional progression friction.

The gameplay felt unrewarding as the prestige elements are more like incremental tech tree upgrades than starting the game over upgrades, after five or six hours I sort of lost tolerance for it. You can't let it idle - the upgrade that makes you not have to come back to click every five or so minutes doesn't auto select a bonus so it still holds up waiting for you. It seems like the fastest way to progress is to not prestige often as well, so it mostly stays the same game all the way though.

Great humor though, UI is difficult to read, I don't know if that's vibe coding or just unoptimized UI, but early on it's just trying to find what numbers are doing what where. Fun humor for an hour or two, though! Just, definitely unpolished and a bit tricky to find the fun in the work once the humor wears off.

Idle & Incremental Lovers recommends Pending Approval, with some caveats:
A decent simple first game for this solo dev. Absurd humor fitting the absurdity of bureaucracy and good balance between active and idle play. UI could definitely use some improvements, though.
+ It's a simple game, nothing groundbreaking but all the basics are there (idle and active play, prestige, numbers go up...).
+ Absurd humor everywhere (in the forms, upgrades, bottom of the screen...).
- Big readability problem. Even when choosing the biggest font, the characters are way too small, and sometimes the colors are too similar to the background. This really ruins the enjoyment, as you don't want to stick your face to the screen to be able to read the jokes or see the big numbers!
- Having your cursor transforming into a stamp feels strange for the first few minutes, as this is the bottom of your cursor/stamp that now triggers the click. It becomes less of a problem once you get used to it.
- Achievements hunter, be careful: you will have to start over if you didn't get all the achievements before the ending. And the ending comes abruptly, there is no warning.
- Talking about achievements, they appear in Spanish on the steam interface.
=> If you want to support the first game that definitely put some heart into this, go for it, it costs less than a coffee. But be aware that there is room for improvement. Nothing that can't be fixed in a future patch, though.
*How do you dismantle a bureaucracy? Make sure you submit the proper forms first.*

A nice idea game and the form design is nice but the UI is awful and it plays really bad, got to the end buying all upgrades tried to ascend and I get stuck on a stupid denial screen. Going to have to start fresh to 100%.

Golden form infinite interval fix

After the last milestone, golden forms now repeat at the same interval as the final milestone gap (27k) instead of every 205k. Fixed a bug where players past the last milestone would see "next golden in 200k forms" due to the milestone index being tied to the golden forms count instead of total sealed.

Auto-hangup & infinite golden forms

Boss calls close automatically after 30 seconds if the player doesn't hang up. After the last golden milestone (205k forms), golden forms keep appearing every 205k forms instead of stopping.

Hotfix: golden form counter no longer goes negative

After the milestone rebalance, players with save files above the new ceiling were seeing a negative count on the "next golden form" tracker. The counter now uses the number of golden forms already collected as its starting index, skipping over any milestones the player's total has already surpassed. Players with pre-patch progress will see a correct positive count pointing to the next reachable milestone.
