A *tentative* yes.
This game has good bones. But I do consider it closer to "early access" than a full release.
A few quick pluses:
+ The choice of music does add a lot to the vibe.
+ Bizsweeper makes for a very thematic diversion as you play.
+ Prestige progression is reasonable and has an interesting mechanic.
Unless I'm missing something, I'm nearing end game within 5 hours. That's in-line with Nodebuster-likes (which personally are not for me), but this is clearly swinging for a more traditional incremental experience.
Here's some things I'd like to see changed about the game:
* Give the whole UI a sweep. It's worth it to unify the iconography- especially on scale (16x16 and 32x32 common for this operating system).
* Improve ability to handle queue sizes. Even now, having created a global empire of shops and factories, I'm topping out the capacity of multiple stores without any more upgrades. That impacts demand and satisfaction, but with zero way to fix it, it weakens the feature.
*Lean into the vibes more. It would be *hilarious* if your competitors were all talking in an MSN style chatroom, plotting against each other. Y2K company names, dot-com bubble shenanigans, etc. etc.
*Email cleanup. [REQ] emails should stay stuck to the top. [NEW] emails should clear automatically if it's the one that's open when you first read your mail.
If, on reading this review, you feel like this game is going to annoy you- don't buy it. It really does need the clean-up to make it that buttery-smooth corpo themed incremental game it could be. It's also not for folks who prefer idle-focused incrementals.
However, I do think it's worth checking out if you enjoyed games like Orb of Creation, Adventure Capitalist, etc.
Good luck to the dev! Hope this feedback is helpful!
Hey everyone! A quick hotfix is now live to address a community-reported bug with achievements: • Achievement Fix (ACH_TAX_EVASION): Fixed an issue where the achievement was not triggering properly when the IRS/Government seized your market due to unpaid taxes. It will now unlock correctly whether your market is seized by the bank or the government! Thank you for reporting this so quickly! Keep building (and paying your taxes... or not)
