Desktop Truck Simulator lets you run a peaceful trucking operation in a window while you work or browse elsewhere. You'll haul cargo between stops, photograph scenic routes, and gather cassettes and trinkets at roadside diners—all at a deliberately leisurely pace that doesn't demand constant attention. It's designed for players seeking a relaxing, low-pressure companion game rather than an engaging challenge.
About this game
Desktop Truck Simulator is a cozy, semi-idle trucking companion that runs quietly in the corner of your screen. Deliver charming cargo, collect lo-fi cassette tapes, take polaroid photos, collect trinkets, rest and socialize at roadside stops in a slow-burn world that respects your time.

Hello everyone ^^ A massive thank you to everyone who played the demo during Steam Next Fest and took the time to share your feedback. Seeing your genuine interest gives incredible momentum to keep building. This update (v0.0.5) focuses on minor tweaks, bug fixes, and quality-of-life additions based on your notes.New Features & Quality of LifeAlways-On-Top Toggle: The setting to keep the game pinned above other windows is now fully implemented and respected by the window controller.Automatic Pit-Stops: Added a new auto-refuel and sleep system so the truck can handle rest stops automatically.Live Traffic: The car spawner is enabled, moving traffic cars onto their own dedicated layer.After-Job Minimize: Dispatching back to driving now consistently honors your after-job minimize setting every time.Gameplay & BalanceDrain Rates Fixed: Energy and hunger now drain at the realistic game-hour rate instead of depleting too fast.Economy Rebalance: Sleep and fuel prices have been centralized in GameData and rebalanced.Pace Restored: Truck pace is now correctly restored after a warehouse delivery and persists across saves.Fixes & PerformancePerformance Pass: Removed per-frame allocations and UI/audio rebuild churn across the HUD and panels to significantly cut down on stutter and garbage collection spikes.Vendor Panel: Fuel amounts and rest prices now display correctly; the fuel station vendor now accurately points at its character portrait.Again, huge thanks to everyone that has wishlisted my game. It really means a lot!Cheers!
Hello everyone,Well, it's finally here! ^^After months of working on this little project, I'm happy to announce that the demo for Desktop Truck Simulator is now available on Steam! It's been quite a journey getting here. What started as a simple idea back in January turned into months of figuring out the core gameplay, adding content, and trying to make this little truck simulator into something actually worth playing. And of course, being a solo dev means doing pretty much everything myself, so things sometimes take a little longer than expected. 😅But I'm really happy to finally have something you can try for yourselves!Though, I should probably mention that this is more of an MVP than a proper demo. It's somewhere between a prototype and an early alpha, so please don't expect too much from it just yet. 😅A lot of things are still rough around the edges, and there's plenty of work left to do. I mainly wanted to get the core idea into your hands and see how it feels to have a little truck running on your desktop.A little note about the content: A lot of features planned for the full game are either simplified or not available in this version. This includes truck customization, inventory, truck upgrades, driver skills, road events, vendors, and lots of story content inspired by visual novels. There's still a long way to go, but hopefully this little preview gives you an idea of what I'm trying to build! If you find any bugs, have ideas, or just want to share your thoughts, I'd really appreciate hearing from you! I'm still figuring out this whole social media thing as I go but you can reach me from our Instagram page or mail to "rustygeargamez@gmail.com". Your feedback would help me a lot in deciding what to work on next. A discord will be coming soon too!If you like the game, don't forget to Wishlist it on Steam. It really helps a small solo-dev project like this get noticed!Anyway, I hope you enjoy having a little truck on your desktop. ^^Thanks for checking out the game...
Hello everyone,We're Rusty Gear Games, well, its just me actually ^^A solo developer who started to form this little studio at the beginning of this year.I'm making my first "complete" PC game, Desktop Truck Simulator. After 13+ years of mobile development, making a lot of soulless games, and eventually becoming unemployed after the AI takeover, I've decided to grant myself a dream and start this little solo self-found studio.I've been a long-time fan of cozy games and desktop companion games.I've had other projects and ideas in mind, but I wanted to start with something simple.Even though I call it "simple", figuring out the main game loop, the content, and the concept of the game actually took me a few months due to I want to enrich the experience with a lot of encounters while keeping the main gameplay basic.I've had the idea for this little desktop truck game since January (and the idea of a desktop companion game even earlier), but right now most of the things are finally settled and I'm preparing for a demo.I recently revealed the game, and around the same time I happened to see a desktop companion event going on.I honestly couldn't believe how many people were interested in this kind of game and shared the same passion. So I'm working hard to release a demo on Steam Next Fest!In the meantime, I'm trying to set up socials for the RGG.I've never been particularly good at this stuff, so I'll probably figure it out as I go. 😅Anyway, that's a little bit about me and how Desktop Truck Simulator came to be.Thanks for checking out the game, and I hope you'll stick around for the journey!Cheers!
