Run a sleazy tabloid empire in retro New York by publishing increasingly outlandish stories and hiring algorithmic help to maximize outrage. The game combines incremental progression with prestige mechanics as you repeatedly sell out your principles for profit, unlocking new story types and absurd goals like controlling the weather. It's a darkly comedic idle game for players who enjoy satirical takes on media corruption and don't mind grinding through morally bankrupt gameplay loops.

Pretty good incremental idle game. I didnt think I would enjoy this theme, but it has a decent hook and it looks really cool and plays quite well. It even has some offline idle income too. You can let it run in the window and do some other stuff, return to it when you want to do something and then go back about your day, or you can be more hands on if you want.
I am looking forward to see how a story campaing will be implemented for 1.0 release.

We received a ton of feedback over the weekend and have been hard at working fixing bugs and aiming to deliver some quality of life updates to make playing Clickbait Tycoon awesome. Today's update is aimed at quality of life and a temporary overhaul to writers (more on that in a moment) and is likely to be the largest patch of the week. We'll be busy fixing other important bugs as they come up to slip into new builds in the 0.5.0 era, but most work this week will be working on the 0.6.0 update that is coming in September so apologies if it feels like we're being less reactive to your reports. Most of these things are small changes but worthwhile. Let's jump into the patch notes!StatsThere has been a bit of a "stat squish". Numbers were getting out of hand too early and this is a change that was going to come with the release of the 0.6.0 update but I've ported it in earlier. The goal is to make your writer stats matter more instead of just seeing massive numbers that don't provide any meaningful gameplay changes. It's fun to complete quests instantly, but it should require a lot of things to go right before that happens and not happen as "early" as it has been. With this, luck has also been tweaked so it isn't "as good" as it previously was in 0.5.2. Let us know what you think about how things feel. The goal though is not to have the game finished in a day.BossesBosses now are more difficult with each layer of prestige.Let us know how it feels.
