IT HAPPENED AGAIN A Halloween update. Darrell found a song, a tape, and something he really shouldn't have picked up. FLOOR CLEARS PAY NOW Every floor you clear pays out XP. First clear, fiftieth clear, doesn't matter. Deeper floors pay more. You'll see it on the FLOOR CLEAR banner. Grinding a floor you're stuck on finally feels like it's going somewhere. Darrell levels up faster now. He's earned it. THE HALLOWEEN EXPERIENCE For anyone who's beaten the first boss. If you just got here, welcome. Go hit that spider and come back. New song on Darrell FM: IT HAPPENED AGAIN. It's first on the station from now until November 7, then it goes back in the crypt until next October. Darrell blacked out again. There's blood on the wall. It swears a little. Streamers, you've been warned. Leave the VCR empty while it's playing. Somebody left a tape in there. It's a full music video now. Darrell got a costume. He also got a crew. There's a bouncing ball. Follow it. Sing along. Nobody's watching. The chorus gets lit. Literally. And there's a solo break, so stretch. The song plays all the way through, no matter what. Head home, start a boss fight, die horribly. It finishes unless you change the station. The video's also on the store page, if you just couldn't wait. SOMETHING IN THE HALL Every so often, something is just... floating there. If you see it, pick it up. I'm not explaining this one. Darrell can't either. FIXES The boss music no longer starts over when a certain spider comes back from babysitting. Wrong-number texts are their own color on the orange themes now, so they stop looking like Darrell losing his temper. Shamblers crawl on the floor now, like they're supposed to. They were hovering. It was weird. STILL SPOOKY SEASON The Halloween bundle is still free in the MODS shop in town. Play any time through November 7 and it's yours forever. Darrell's Super Spooky Ghost Dad, Fun Adjacent
FASHION POLICE Darrell's been wearing the same outfit through the whole dungeon. Somebody in town finally noticed. MODS There's a new door in town. Press (or find MODS in the top bar) and meet the Modder. The Fixer patches Darrell. The Modder makes him look good doing it. The dressing room. Darrell stands on a hologram grid while you dress him up, with a little live HUD underneath previewing everything. He has opinions about your choices. Sometimes he loves it. Sometimes he shrugs. Cloth and armor. Recolor his cloth and his leather separately. Mix and match. Make him look like royalty, a ref, a goblin, whatever. Some of it is alive. Later unlocks don't just change color. They burn, freeze, glow, glitch, and shed particles while he fights. Themes. 14 of them, and they repaint the WHOLE board: health bars, enemy bars, patches, the radio, all of it. Amber monitors, CGA, Windows 95, rainy day, a slick modern dashboard, and more. Colorblind Safe. One of those themes keeps your health and enemy health far apart (no red vs. green), and it's unlocked for everyone from day one. Accessibility doesn't get locked. Gore modes. Confetti Mode: all gore is confetti. Family content! Brutal Mode: twice the gore. Not family content! Kill effects. Change what happens to an enemy when it goes down. One of them breaks it into pieces. One of them blows it up into a party. One of them just loses signal. Tiny Darrell. He's small now. He has to jump to reach their faces. That's all I'll say. SHUFFLE. Can't decide? Flip it on and Darrell rolls a random fit from everything you've unlocked, every floor. HOW YOU GET IT Everything unlocks by playing. Kills, floors, food, headbutts, stuns, bosses, even dying. Something new lands roughly every hour, all the way up to the Sysop. Every locked item shows exactly what it wants and how close you are. When you earn one, you'll know. And anything you haven't looked at yet wears a little rainbow NEW tag until you do. Your progress counts. If you've been pl...
DON'T LOOK NOW 0.6.0 put some things in the fog. Turns out they were a little too good at hiding. Even I didn't run into them. Plus a pile of little polish. THE DUNGEON Darrell isn't as alone down there as he used to be. Some things that were too shy have gotten a little braver. If you see something, keep watching. HUD Your loadout slots get a little picture back: each patch's icon sits next to its name and what it does. Easier to find what you're running at a glance. A cleaner split between each patch and its mastery bar, and it lines up right on smaller screens now too. Want more dungeon on screen? There's a little PATCHES tab under your loadout now. Click it to tuck the whole thing away, click again to bring it back. It remembers. OPTIONS Real toggle switches in the options menu now, instead of ON / OFF text. Flip 'em. Keep an eye on the fog. It's keeping one on you. Darrell's Lurking Watcher, Fun Adjacent
