Crack That Egg strips incremental gaming down to its essentials: tap to damage an egg while purchasing tool upgrades that multiply your damage output. As you progress, increasingly absurd hazards spawn—arrows rain from above, prehistoric creatures leap across the screen—turning the experience into controlled chaos. It's designed for players who want the satisfaction of exponential growth without the time commitment of traditional idle games.

IntroI'm the developer of "Crack That Egg". In this post, I'm going to talk about:My storyStory of "Crack That Egg"Current status of the gameWhat's coming next I want to be as transparent as I can and give you updates on the game's development progress as often as I can.My StoryI'm a 40-year-old dad and husband. Born and raised in Iran. I immigrated to Canada in 2018. I grew up playing Atari games and later, games like Tomb Raider(1996-98), Twisted Metal (1995), and Crash Bandicoot (1996). I used to sketch simple game levels on paper and plan my imaginary video game when I was a teenager. But reality was, I had to finish high school and go to university. I picked up UDK (Unreal Development Kit, Epic’s free version of Unreal Engine 3) when I was in university studying Civil Engineering just to test the waters. At the time, it seemed that game development was a huge undertaking and not a single-man job. So I dropped it and went about my life, working in the construction industry, getting married, having a child.Story of "Crack That Egg"In 2023, I read some articles about Unreal Engine for Fortnite that led me to Unreal Engine. I started learning this game engine and played around with it. Since then, I've been trying to develop and publish a game. Since then, I've worked solo on some projects. My first ever serious project was a tower defense, which I started in March 2025. I worked on it for a month or so, created the Steam page, and promoted it a little bit. "Crack That Egg" was born. Current status of the gameAt the time of writing this, almost %90 of the game logic/game mechanics is finished. I have created a lot of graphical assets(including Steam page assets) and UI elements as placeholders. I also used some sound effects and music as placeholders. I have not done any pla...
