A desktop idle game where you process endless paperwork as a cat, stamping and sorting packages one at a time before automating the tedious tasks. As productivity gains let you hire helpers, the game gradually reveals why this mountain of bureaucracy keeps arriving. Best suited for players who enjoy layered progression mechanics and appreciate absurdist humor wrapped in a persistent, always-on-top window.

Pawperwork 0.8.7: a guide for the first game and readability fixes

Thanks to everyone who sent feedback on the demo. This update comes straight from it.NewA guide for the first game. An arrow points at each step of the first round. Area names on the scene. Inbox, Pending, Stamp, Filed and Dispatch now show their names below the capacity of each area. Show scene title and Show game version, in Settings > Scene > Scenery. Both start on. ChangedThe scene text reads top to bottom: capacities, titles, instructions. The options in Settings > Scene > Scene text follow the same order. The companion now says "Click me" to teach stamping, matching the arrow. FixedIn the Night Shift palette, dropdown lists showed white text on a white background on Linux. After changing the interface size, the scene and the speech balloon could stay at the old sharpness until the window was resized. On Linux, text drawn in the scene (area names, the speech balloon) had uneven gaps between letters. In the Night Shift palette, the numbers that float up from the scene and fly to your total were dark on dark and hard to read. In the Night Shift palette, the stub of documents (like the Administrative Process) had light text on a light background. In the Bubblegum and Despair palettes, the red buttons and menu items (like Reset) were hard to read. Found a problem? Tell us on Discord and attach the file from Settings > Logs. Game news also goes out on Instagram.

Pawperwork 0.8.6: interface improvements and visual updates

This is Pawperwork's first announcement here on the community hub. The demo has already had a few patches with no announcements here, but these are the ones you may notice: the game launches on Linux through the Steam runtime, writes a log file (Settings > Logs) and shows up on your Discord profile. From now on, every version gets its own notes. Thanks to everyone who has reported problems on the Steam forum or elsewhere. This update comes straight from the first demo report. NewInterface size. Settings > Display now scales text, buttons and the scene together, from 75% to 200%. The window grows with them. Quit button on the main menu. Palettes on the main menu. Pick a color palette before starting a game. Dark mode aware. On the first launch, a system in dark mode opens the game in the Night Shift palette. Your language first. On the first launch, the game opens in your system language when it speaks it (English or Portuguese). ChangedThe first launch takes the whole monitor, in borderless mode. The small corner window is still one click away, in the window mode menu. If you already chose a mode, it stays. Native window is now a regular window. It opens at two thirds of the screen, centered, and resizes freely. It no longer starts maximized. System text size is respected. A larger text size in Windows, or a higher font DPI on Linux, scales the whole game. The window of each mode now accounts for it. The cat holds the stamp by its handle. The stamp head sits behind the paw, on top of a longer handle, and each stamp's art still shows above the fingers. Gold main buttons. The main action on each screen is now gold, and checked boxes turn light blue. Darker outlines in Night Shift. The palette now outlines everything in a dark tone, like the others, instead of light borders that lit up the whole screen. FixedOn Linux (X11, Openbox), Native window mode could not be resized. With a large system text size, the small window modes cut off part of the game. The scene vanishe...
