Way more depth than what you'd think at first glance, very customizable to your own style! Ascension perks are great, but you can finish the game only scratching its surface : game is too easy atm.
+ You can choose to go more active or more idle, which is always great to suit both style of players.
+ You can auto-progress area when finished, which offers a pleasing change from the constant back and forth of run-based incremental games.
+ The loadout system, where you can equip artifacts, has a set bonus system. Another great feature for player agency!
+ Ascension allows you to focus on four different type of upgrades: spells, combat, cursor and economy. Each with interesting perks! Once again, a lot of liberty for the player.
+/- Pixel art and music are serviceable, but nothing special.
- Game needs a balance change to make it more difficult: I could finish it while only exploring a small part of the ascension tree, which is sad cause (for example) I wanted to experiment more with the cool different spells and I only got to buy one before the ending. Yes, you can continue endlessly after the ending, but that's not the main way most people enjoy these games nowadays, and you loose the sense of accomplishment.
==> Overall, I'm surprised by how little attention Cursor Slayer got until now. It does a lot of things well, and definitely deserves more!
*What do you call a mouse that swears? A cursor.*
