The Islander is an idle farm builder where you plant crops, raise livestock, and decorate an island paradise with minimal active engagement required. It's designed for players who enjoy watching their farm grow passively rather than those seeking narrative depth or complex mechanics like Stardew Valley offers. Best suited for casual idle game enthusiasts comfortable with a straightforward clicking and automation loop.
About this game
The Islander is a fast building/farming game set somewhere in an exotic Polynesia. Plant crops, bushes and trees, build livestock pens, but don’t forget to make it look classy by adding various decorations.

I think the reason this game is getting so many negative reviews is because people were expecting Stardew Valley 2.0. What this game really is, is an idle farm builder. It's really fun if you like idle games and building up farms in general. The only complaint I have would be that I want more content! But otherwise it's a super fun game.
This was listed as a game similar to Stardew Valley. Which was part of why I got it. But once I started playing, I became aware that it has very little in common with the aforementioned game and is, in fact, nothing really more than a click game. Which, for me, is a yawn a minute. If you like click games, by all means, pick this up. But don't be fooled into thinking it might be something more by its use of agriculture to appear as a sim.
It's a cute game but there's very little to it. It's an idle/grinding game that feels like it should be on mobile or a free browser game. There are also multiple game breaking bugs (ex: zooming out sometimes crashes the game, happened to me 10+ times) and inaccurately reported achievements. The game also only has one save slot and doesn't tell you it's going to overwrite that for a new island. Even though it's so cheap, I wouldn't recommend it.
