Yeah no I gotta give this game a thumbs down.
I mean I always hate to do this with indie developers who I'm sure are putting in a lot of work but I gotta be honest. The game just isn't that good.
It's basically a poor mans mobile app lacking microtransactions, for the PC, costing 20 dollars.
You create your own dragon. Cool.
You have a small story about how dragons were wiped out and you need to bring them back blah blah blah so it's an okay story.
And then you get into the mobile app style of gameplay. Go around gather basic resources like stone, wood and charcoal. Build automated factories and let the game play itself. It's super basic too like its not even that intuitive or intricate. And you sit back and wait for your factories to generate enough magic before you can unlock a new area, rinse and repeat. With minor rare instances of combat, a lot of random easy to accomplish quests, and a whole heck of a lot of waiting. The game even continues to play when you get off just like a mobile app so it'll keep generating resources for you when you're not playing. Sound familiar?
The building mechanic is janky and awkward and awful. Unable to choose how to place building. When you place buildings too far away without knowing it they can't reach each other so you wasted resources cuz guess what?? You can't demolish or reposition them at all.
The game isn't advertised as an early access game but boy does it feel like one. And overall it's lacking in a lot of areas like sound effects, better controls, decent tutorial and I could go on.
For 20 dollars it's just not worth it. If you're super desperate to play the game then even still I'd recommend coming back in a year to see if it's made any updates to it's gameplay. But as it is now, it's not worth your time or money.
If you want a more in depth look then please check out the video I put on my YouTube Channel (link below).
Otherwise thanks for reading and I hope I helped some of you out there to spend your money wisely.
