~~The Potential~~
While the game is still in very early development with several creative design questions still to be nailed down by the creator, I believe this could be the start of something quite amazing, as it has already easily passed its first hoop by having an active player base (an issue a lot of other multiplayer only survival games die at).
While the active playerbase might speak for itself I would like to even further stress how much passion is being put into this by the developer. Having taken huge risks in investing so much time into the game, the developer still works tirelessly to listen to player feedback at every step of the way. Whether it's bug reports or straight up suggestions about balancing, economy development, or world map opinions, the developer does something magical that I have yet to see any other developer do. He not only sheds his pride, but HE LISTENS.
A project with an amazing and open developer, in a genre that is not only quickly developing, but where the project itself has hit the nail on its head for where the genre should be headed. I see no qualms in investing your time and money in this game as not only is it already amazingly fun, with a dedicated playerbase, but it might just have one of the best shots at being the future of indie RPG based Action Survival.
~~The Game~~
The game, as for now, is simple(ish). It's an RPG Survival Action game. You start out as a small feeble creature with many different classes to choose from, from the get go. Your goal, is to grow as large as possible by utilizing your class's unique features in combat against enemies. The twist is, resources are limited, and if you want to get the best farming spots, for the best gear, and the fastest experience, all to become the apex predator of the server, you need to start fighting for them.
In this game, sharing can be a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, should you decide to peaceably team up in guilds, you will quickly find that you're forced to share resources, sometimes with enough people that you really start feeling the diminishing returns. Should you instead decide to not team up, to consider yourself strongest and keep the mobs of what you claim as YOUR territory for yourself, then you're going to be forced to fight for it, and should you fail, you will lose about 5-10% of your accrued levels.
Combat in this game is interesting, but ironically enough, it is also extremely reminiscent of actual real life interactions between predators and prey. There are a few bugs and unbalanced abilities (that will be polished away) but these all have shifted the meta to be a matter of catching people while unawares. If you're too busy mauling on ailens and spec ops humans to notice, you might miss the tiny lethal wasp circling around you to kill you in just a few stings. Or, you might not hear the sounds from the stampeding army of 4 legged ants and pupas storming your way at mach 10. Should you kill them they'll know that you're strong enough to not mess with, should they manage to kill you, you might need to teach them the values of not heading towards mutual self-destruction.
I have yet to see anyone reach level 1000, because the highest level people farming the best spots, will always be kneecapped by coordinated actions, and for that, I would especially praise the game. It has made survival a skill.
~~Final Opinion~~
I can't give a complete opinion of the game, as the game, is not yet complete. I can see many ways that this game might go, some of them good, some of them bad. However, I believe that the best way to make sure, especially with an open and ambitious developer, that the best choice that can be made is to support him and help him nurture this project into something amazing, because I earnestly believe, this game might just have the best shot out there.
Based on the potential and what we're already seeing, I'd give this game a very anticipatory 9/10, and recommend anyone who are the slightest interested, to give it a go.
