Disclaimer: I'm one of the developers of the game engine used to make this game (Godot Engine), which is how I discovered it. But I'm also an indie game lover and I'm reviewing it based on my gaming experience.
The Adventure of Nayu is a bite-sized idle game, which has about 30 mins of play time for the Story mode, and you can add another 30 min to try the Endless mode and the Bonus game and max out all achievements. So it's not a long game, but for the price of a coffee it's definitely a fun experience! I played it over my lunch break and I enjoyed it.
The artwork and animation are really well made and super cute, and give this game a lot of charm. I also enjoyed the (short but endearing) story - it's not super original and is a bit cheesy (involves cheese even!) but it's a perfect fit for this type of game. It's also quite witty at times, some of the cutscenes and twists definitely made me smile :)
The gameplay itself is quite simple, it's an idle clicker and the game will progress even if you don't do anything, but you can click to progress faster, and unlock skills to have the auto-clicker gameplay go even faster/stronger without your interaction. I'd have wished for some slightly more advanced mechanics to support the amazing universe created by the graphics, music and endearing characters, but it's still a gameplay that works fine and is interesting enough for the 30-60 min you'll spend in the game. I'd definitely buy a follow-up in that universe with more story and a more complex gameplay that requires some tactical thinking.
