Even though the game is only 6 months old at this point, no one plays the game anymore so the dev isn't going to work on it anymore. Understandable, but there are some huge problems with the game in it's current state.
First, there is no save file. He uses Construct 3 to make the game and it doesn't allow the game to generate external save files. Pretty stupid, considering the way that software generates code actually causes the Steam client to crash, which in turn causes the game to crash (and ALL Steam games to stop - which could corrupt other game save files). When you go back in to the game, your save file is invariably gone, so all progress, 8 hours worth in my case, is erased. Crashing the Steam client is a common bug with this game, especially when the game runs for 6+ hours. So, an idle game that can't run for extended periods, to me, is a fail.
On top of that, the game has major freezing issues when it is running in the background. I don't know what the logic is for making an IDLE game that can't run in the background. ?
So, while I didn't mind the simple game play, the fact that there are some major and serious bugs with the software the dev uses to make the game, and the fact that he has zero interest in fixing them, and has already gone on to start working on more, similar games, using the SAME buggy game developer app, I would say give this a hard pass. I wouldn't mind supporting a dev financially, but not with his consistent use of a low grade development app that crashes the platform he delivers his game on, and the fact that he has zero interest in supporting his own 6 month old game.
I get that it makes little sense to continue supporting a game that no one plays anymore, but then the content is minimal, there wasn't even a single patch, and the game deletes your progress when it crashes . . . daily. Is it a surprise that no one plays it anymore? Maybe he should slow down and make 1 game at a time, and flesh them out and FIX the major bugs before moving on to the next project . . . with bugs. He might have more longevity and more concurrent players, and in turn, more financial support.
