Paint Drying Simulator is exactly what its title suggests: a real-time simulation of watching paint dry across a six-hour cycle. The game offers minimal UI and no customization options, presenting players with a stark, meditative experience of observing a single task unfold. It appeals to those seeking an absurdist take on simulation games or looking for genuine downtime entertainment, though reports of high GPU usage raise performance concerns.

My friend knows I have a love for simulation games. Imagine my surprise when he gifted me this horribly boring paint drying simulator. I promised him that I would give it a try. When arriving at the main menu, I was greeted with a single option. No graphic settings, no audio settings, nothing. Only a singular Start Game button. After choosing my first paint (Beige) I watched and slowly started to hate my life. It was boring as hell. The immersive nature sounds annoyed me to death. My eyes started playing tricks on me and I imagined the paint changing shades. I had put to much time in to refund the game, and I sent it away to steam hell where it would never be touched again. Then my friend asked how it went. He asked if I had learned anything. Learned anything? What was I supposed to learn? Absolutely NOTHING happened. It was a waste of time. Six hours of my life, GONE. He told me I missed the point. That I'd been too stressed out recently. That I should relax and just enjoy. To stop looking to get something out of it and just be at peace. He told me to give it one more try. I chose a light blue and settled in, albeit with an admittedly very closed off mind. The first two hours went much like the entire beige viewing. Slow, boring, annoying birds. But then something happened. I fell asleep. And I dreamed the most wondrous dream. I was flying through the sky, light blue as far as the horizon. Diving in and out of clouds as I went with the birds. It was the best sleep I've had in months, maybe years. I woke up with 30 minutes left of the timer. My entire view of this simple game had changed. I instantly picked the same color again when the timer ended and kept an open mind. No longer was I bored, no longer were the sounds of nature annoying. I embraced them. I thought about what my friend had said. I decided I would stay awake and truly embrace the beauty I was finding in the paint. It wasn't the color that was important, but what the color represented. Red, as the timer ticked down to zero, and the paint dried, I could feel my anger and rage drying up inside of me as well. Blue, my tears and regrets. White, the feeling of emptiness and worthlessness, the feeling I don't matter, gone. Each time I watched a paint dry, something in me changed. I started feeling better, more complete. My journey is not yet over, I still have a few to watch, but I know they will be eye opening experiences just like the rest were. I haven't talked to my friend since I started this journey. I want to complete this adventure, experience what this paint has to give me. I want to show him all of the positive changes this game has started in me. To anyone considering buying this game for themselves, don't. It should not be something you buy for yourself. It is a game meant to be gifted. Gifted to those who need a change, to those who need what this game offers. An Experience.

CRYPTO MINER DO NOT BUY

I bought this game as a joke with my friends, and was running it for a bit until one of my friends jokingly told me to check task manager to see how much it was stressing my pc. It turns out it was running 100% GPU, and had been from the second I launched it, even in the menu. I have a 4070ti, so there is no way the MENU is taking up 100% of that. I did some research, and it turns out that it is likely a crypto-miner, which explains why it was using so much gpu. DO NOT BUY IT.

I watched paint dry. I watched a lot of paint dry.

And I enjoyed every single second of it.

10/10, highly recommended. Buy this game immediately and then you can watch ALL the paint dry.

Improved Internal Timer Performance

We've made improvements to the internal timer to reduce lag on low-end PCs. However, to maintain fairness, a validation system has been implemented. Attempting to tamper with your PC's internal clock will be considered cheating and reset the timer back to 6 hours. This may affect players in regions with automatic daylight saving time changes. We recommend avoiding playing during these times. Thank you for your patience, and we hope you enjoy the game!

Menu adaptable to different screen resolutions

Thanks to a user support we found out that there was an error when the game was running in a screen with a different screen size, so we fix it so it can adapt to wherever screen size you have (no sure about 800x600 though :s)
