Timberman VR

2D games that get a 3D conversion are often worthwhile, and especially when this conversion is immediately VR compatible it brings us some extra fun to the challenges.
A 2D character cutting trees at high speeds will be more impressive once you've been in his shoes, and that's now possible with Timberman VR.

'Kung Fu Chopping' - 'Kung Wood Chop' whatever you want to call it, playing this game will bring out both the woodcutter and the ninja in you,
Enjoy fast paced woodcutting action using your motion controls,
chop and punch the tree with all its branches to pieces but also be careful not to chop everything off indiscriminately because in addition to the cute squirrels that you are not allowed to touch, there are countless other things that are not as friendly when you hit it or when you it doesn't hit the right way.

If you wish you can start the game with a tutorial that teaches you everything step by step, I can only recommend it to you.
In addition to the tutorial, you can choose between a campaign and arcade mode, and the campaign unlocks new levels that also place you in the middle of all annual seasons, the environments are therefore made up seasonally.
Besides a battle for the best scores, you can also unlock new tools that make it even more comfortable to do your thing precisely and without damage.
If I may give you a tip, often following the rhythm of the background music will be a good tool to practice your swings and chops more accurately.

Is Timberman VR worth .79 cents? Yeah, I think so. It's a pretty good deal at that price. It's a nice little mini-game for VR. It can get quite hectic and you do get a good work. While this is ostensibly a tree chopping mini-game, it really is closer to a music action rhythm game. You do swing your axe to the beat of the music to get bonus points.

You can swing your axe on the tree or use the blunt side to knock things out (either from the side for 2 sided axes or on the back for one-sided axes). You swing your offhand machete to knock down the branches, although you can also use your axe, but you have to be accurate and hit it right on or you'll whiff, that's why the machete is better for branches. You can also double swing on armor plated parts of the tree. When you swing your axe on the tree, you have to swing on the direction indicated, to the beat of the music for bonus points. There's also squirrels or bee hives on the branches and you're supposed to hit the squirrel with the machete, but away from the beehive.

That's pretty much the game in a nutshell. Obviously, the farther you go, the faster and more accurate you have to be. If you swing on a bomb or cuckoo clock with your axe instead of pushing, it's probably game over immediately.

The main problem with the game is the music ... it's bad. It also doesn't have enough variety with only a few tracks. You will grow to hate the music as much as I already do the longer you play this game, even if you thought it was okay at first. There are some unlocks, but they are used in arcade mode. Arcade mode you select the difficulty & map & you can use different equipment. The other main problem with the game is the maps are very generic & not pleasant to look at.

So I think the gameplay is fun enough for at least an hour or two. You do get a good workout. However, the bad game music soundtrack, slim pickings, & bland maps bring the whole experience down. Plus I did experience a bug, after buying my Viking machete & 2 sided Viking axe, the game was stuck in an infinite loading screen in campaign mode. Fortunately, simply going back to the default equipment stopped the infinite loading screen problem.

Sale Price Rating 6.5/10. It is definitely a good deal at .79 cents, but I don't think I would recommend this at the normal $7.99 USD price

I love the game play! I was concerned it might not be fast enough, but it is! The user interface is a bit quirky so I give it a meh. Overall love it! I think its well worth the asking price.
