Hello everyone. After a long silence, Eaves is back. After several rounds of starting over, we finally arrived at what we call the final version. The most visible change in this version is the art. We replaced the entire look of Eaves with fully hand-drawn pixel art in a classical Chinese style. Yes, we redrew all of it, from beginning to end.Over the past stretch of development we kept searching for a style that truly fit the game. After trying many directions, we settled on pixel art. It reads as older, and closer to the feel of a painted scroll. On the gameplay side, we kept the structure we had: restoration levels where you piece an old painting back together, and a creation mode where you build freely. What's in this versionArt: fully hand-drawn classical pixel art, like looking at an unrolled scrollGameplay: restoring damaged scrolls and building your own scenes, both completeStory: a small painting spirit appears. She inherits the old painter's knowledge and memory, and helps you put every object back where it belongsDetails: we have kept adding interactions for characters, scenery, and objects, so the world feels aliveCamera: 2:1, 16:9, 4:3 and 1:1 frames. Export the scene you want to share with friends, or use it as a wallpaperRestorationEvery damaged scroll is left with nothing but ink outlines. Each sticker in your hand is one specific thing: a small bridge, a tavern banner, a traveller asking for directions under the eaves. Place it against the matching silhouette, and the spirit drifts over and quietly tells you where it came from. If you cannot find the right spot, try another sticker, or wait for her hint.BuildingA restored painting becomes a base you can build on. Lay out terraces, riverbanks and stone steps on the terrain board, then add houses, pavilions, bridges and people. What has not changedEaves is still a slow game, just as before. You can piece together fragments of old paintings whenever you like, or build a world of your own.Playable nowThe dem...
This time, we're bringing you the latest development showcase for "Eaves": a brand-new building tile, "Two-Story Marketplace Tavern." Its prototype is inspired by the "Sun Yang Shop" from "Along the River During the Qingming Festival." In our model, we've retained the characteristics of bustling marketplace architecture such as the double-story pavilion, street-facing storefronts, wooden corridors, and gray tiled double eaves. We hope this allows players to experience a more vibrant ancient street atmosphere as they build their districts. In "Eaves" every building tile is not just decoration; it's also a piece of your own ancient-style streetscape coming together. We will continue to refine more buildings, streets, and scene content, and welcome your continued attention. If you have any questions or ideas, you are welcome to join our social channels. At the same time, remember to add "Eaves" to your wishlist to keep informed of the latest news about the game.
