Short story; Amazing game 10/10
Long story; I'm a professional software developer of like 15 years. I've worked in many different languages and in general because I code so much for work I've really lost that sense of fun and passion I used to have while coding. This game brought that back.
I don't even know how properly to describe it. It's kinda like a more complex cookie clicker but you program the clicker and can get as clever as you'd like about it. It gives me the same satisfaction as a game like factorio while really letting me dig into the mechanics and rewrite the rules of how I'm "supposed" to play.
This game is a must have for software developers imo. Make programming fun again- do it in an environment that actually rewards you for clever, efficient code.
Kind of awesome, a great example of gamification where the player feels like he is just having fun but is actually learning basic programming principles and some basic python. I only wish i could choose from additional programming languages, then i would happily play the whole game again in e.g. c++
Hey folks, We are busy working on the new mining DLC. Since the mining is already looking quite nice, we thought we would share a short video showing a early work in progress of the new mining mechanic: If you would like to see a higher-quality version of this GIF that hasn't been sped up, you can find one here. We're currently working on a prototype of the mining gameplay and can't wait to show you more! You can already wishlist the DLC here: See you soon, Timon, Adrian and Nils As always we want to show you the programming game made by our friends If Red Then Stop. This could be for you if you want to learn how traffic lights, barriers and other traffic stuff are programmed.
Hey everyone 👋I’ve got something fun to share today.A few months ago, we had a fun idea: What if you could use The Farmer Was Replaced to automate another game? Here’s a little experiment we did on that: Together with the creators of the typing games Tap Tap Loot (which officially releases today 🎉) and Bongo Cat we built an integration to automate their games. Now, you can automate your typing using the new tap() function in The Farmer Was Replaced. 😄Check out both games here:The Typer Was Replaced Sale ⌨️ How it worksGet Bongo Cat for free or Tap Tap Loot with the launch discount.Update The Farmer Was Replaced now and automate the other two games without lifting a finger. At least after you've typed in this little, clever code:while True: tap() 🛠️ Fixes & ImprovementsThis update also includes a few fixes and improvements:First of all, a big thank you to Zoroark Zwart and the other community members who contributed valuable improvements to the \\_\\_builtins\\_\\_.py file, which improves the experience of using external code editors. You can now pass arguments directly when spawning a drone and no longer need to capture them in a function: spawn_drone(function, *args)The broken shift-tab unindent feature has been fixed on macOS. This still conflicts with the Steam shortcut, but nothing can be done about this.Cmd shortcuts now work by default on macOS.As always, thank you for all the feedback and support. It really helps a lot. ❤️ Have fun automating your typing 😄Timon🪨 Upcoming The Miner Was Replaced DLC Yes, we're working on a mining DLC! Check it out here and feel free to add it to your wishlist:
