The Reaper Survivors is a gothic-themed roguelike that blends bullet-heaven action with character progression and RPG upgrades. You guide one of five playable reapers through waves of enemies, surviving encounters while improving your chosen character between runs. The clean 2D aesthetic and atmospheric soundtrack complement the survival-focused core loop, though early gameplay pacing may feel sluggish before unlocking meaningful upgrades.

This is an atmospheric and perfect RPG-style game with clear and cute 2D graphics. The gameplay seems complicated at first, but is easy to learn. Maybe there are no main story and etc, but you can enjoy to the main mechanics of the game - survival and upradging of selected character (currently there are 5 playable characters yet) So, the background music fits well with the game, I liked it. 10 out of 10 points, recommended!

With dozens and dozens of high quality bullet heaven titles out there, I just can not recommend putting time into The Reaper Survivors in this state. While competent on paper, it reminds me of Hunter Survivors a bit; the player is so slow and weak that after a minute or two the enemies start becoming overwhelming, forcing them to try and circle around everyone. It does not make you feel powerful at all. Large hitboxes make both player and enemy attacks feel off, there's no content variety at all and due to the slow progression the difficulty becomes overwhelming after a couple minutes. After playing over half an hour, with matches a couple minutes each, I'm about halfway through towards the cheapest permanent upgrade - that's ridiculously low of an earn rate for minor gains, forcing the player to keep retrying the same stage with the same character and the few limited build options. It's Early Access so maybe the game will become better balanced, more fun and more varied, but as of now it's not a satisfying experience.

The game basically needs more play testing and refining. The initial play through feels way too limited and slow. The character feel like he is hobbled while wearing ankle weights and walking through a swamp. I actually like the clean simplistic art style. The couple of levels I played were fine but feel empty as there are no background features to break. Basically it is a budget Vampire survivors and it plays like it. Like a said over time it has potential, but not worth your time in it's current state. I wish there was a different rating system like 5 stars as I would put this ad 2.5.

Features list: Transition to Unreal Engine 5: An important step in the development of our game was the switch to a completely new game engine - Unreal Engine 5.
