About This Game

CivIdle is an idle/incremental game that allows you to lead your own civilization through thousands of years from ancient times to the modern era. Expand your territory, explore a vast tech tree, build various wonders, and trade with global players: empire must grow and numbers must go up!

This game aims to be exactly what it advertises as, an idle civilization game, and a lot of it is good. But, I don't recommend at this point. Another reviewer mentioned, 40 minutes is required for functionality to be fully unlocked, but what that reviewer didn't mention, is that is 48 hours of active time, and I strongly disagree with this. Why make an idle game and only give credit for active time? To me, this is an anti-fun mechanic and it diminishes my trust that this game will develop in a good direction. Things in game are largely tied colony value, and trade is a major emphasis of the game. The end of the economic tech tree is Cryptocurrency, which feels a gross. There is no good feeling of progression as you either unlock a million buildings at once at the beginning, or (from what I can tell) have very slow progress later on. You place buildings and wonders (which take hours to build), but it's hard to get a good grasp on how different buildings affect your overall stats, such as happiness, and what you should do next to aid your empire. It does not give that satisfying dopamine hit that other idlers have and I wanted to just play another one after an hour. With a more streamlined feeling of progression, a better UI that I do not need to customize for hours to be useful and more useful user feedback, this may have been an interesting idler, but I would avoid it for now

There are dozens of different style incremental idle games. But there are only few true jewels. CivIdle is one of them. There is enough depth and it is logical. It's by no means "a couple of hours" and the game is done, bring on the next one! The other valuable diamonds I've found so far here are: * Farmers against Potatoes * Wizards And Minions Idle * Grim Clicker * Trimps * Increlution I shall welcome any tips of some other games. Tried many, disappointed almost as many times.

Not yet. 1. You have to leave the game running for 48h to unlock functionality. 2. The UI needs some quality-of-life improvements -- lots of clicking to figure out how it works, lack of tutorials, really not intuitive. Their previous game, Industry Idle, had a much better UI. 3. There is a game-breaking bug with one building that forces you to restart your map. This game has potential, but wait until it improves before playing.
