Lead a civilization from ancient times through the modern age in this incremental game centered on territorial expansion, technological advancement, and wonder-building. Manage resources across a deep tech tree while trading with other players, though expect a grinding progression that demands considerable active engagement despite the idle framing.
About this game
CivIdle is an idle/incremental game that allows you to lead your own civilization through thousands of years from ancient times to the modern era. Expand your territory, explore a vast tech tree, build various wonders, and trade with global players: empire must grow and numbers must go up!

This game aims to be exactly what it advertises as, an idle civilization game, and a lot of it is good. But, I don't recommend at this point.
Another reviewer mentioned, 48 hours is required for functionality to be fully unlocked, but what that reviewer didn't mention, is that is 48 hours of active time, and I strongly disagree with this. Why make an idle game and only give credit for active time? To me, this is an anti-fun mechanic and it diminishes my trust that this game will develop in a good direction.
Things in game are largely tied colony value, and trade is a major emphasis of the game.
The end of the economic tech tree is Cryptocurrency, which feels a gross.

There is no good feeling of progression as you either unlock a million buildings at once at the beginning, or (from what I can tell) have very slow progress later on. You place buildings and wonders (which take hours to build), but it's hard to get a good grasp on how different buildings affect your overall stats, such as happiness, and what you should do next to aid your empire. It does not give that satisfying dopamine hit that other idlers have and I wanted to just play another one after an hour.
With a more streamlined feeling of progression, a better UI that I do not need to customize for hours to be useful and more useful user feedback, this may have been an interesting idler, but I would avoid it for now
Not a bad idea in principle, but it feels too "floaty". The UI is terrible: it's hard to see which building affects which and the windows-inspired look is really not a good fit for this game. There is no overview for all your resources, you have to go to every building to see their stockpile (unless a technology unlocks that later, but that should be a basic function).

Greetings, CivIdlers, To celebrate the early access release of Restitutor, I have prepared a content patch for CivIdle. This patch introduces a new end game wonder, updates some of the older Civs, and ships lots of QoLs and performance improvement. Coincidentally, this patch has the build number 1000 - It's our 1000th public build! As a celebration of Restitutor: Empire Restored, all buildings get +1 Production Multiplier and +1 Building Level Boost for two weeks from Sep 8. I will also drop by to the in-game chat to give away some Steam keys (for Restitutor and CivIdle) so keep an eye on the chat! https://store.steampowered.com/app/4431750/Restitutor_Empire_Restored/ Keepers Of Our Server Special Day The “Keep Our Server On” Pack helps keep our servers afloat amid ever-increasing costs. As a thank-you, I want to add a reward for Keepers Of Our Server without adding unfair advantage and breaking the game’s balance. Keepers Of Our Server can set a special day (such as a birthday or anniversary) which will appear on the game’s calendar (also added in this patch). On that day, every player receives +1 Production Multiplier and Building Level Boost for all buildings. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43106564/e142ebc8e0e6cd452491b516fd8c140c7e35d727.png The special day can be changed once every 360 days. To help with beta testing, I will reset the cooldown once for everyone when this patch lands on stable. The game’s calendar also shows the birthdays of Great People. Hi, The trading server has been updated with limit for different account levels. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43106564/daab8d7d8724acc35e96727cca98d1fab7b5d419.png Here are my rationale for this change. Max Tariff Max Tariff has been 10% since the Player Trade was initially introduced. It worked alright until "Tile Claim" was introduced, which made trade map more crowded and tariff more prevalent. This hinders player trade and is prone to abuse. Lowering tariff rate, especially for lower account levels should help tackle this issue. After this change goes online, existing tariffs will be capped at the new limit. Trade Price Range The old Trade Price Range is too unfavorable to new players, who actually can benefit more from player trading. This changes allows new players to price more competitively when posting a new trade - instead of relying on goodwill from old players. Active Trade I've been dealing with the ever increasing server cost since this year - I did some more profiling and optimization of the server code. One of the finding is that the number of active trades does not really impact the server performance that much (the number of trade fills and tariff routing is more impactful). So I figure increasing the active trades for Supporters/Keepers should not cause much higher server load while makes Supporter/Keeper packs more "attractive" and thus help with long-term sustainability of the trade server. The UI has been updated in Patch 1.5, which is currently on beta and is scheduled to go live on Sep 8, the same day as the early access release of Restitutor: Empire Restored Patch 1.5 Draft Patch Notes: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2181940/view/678506788181508385
Greetings, CivIdlers, I am preparing a “surprise” content patch for CivIdle (well, not a surprise anymore) to celebrate the release of Restitutor. This patch is scheduled to land on stable on Sep. 8, the same day Restitutor releases. Keepers Of Our Server Special Day The “Keep Our Server On” Pack helps keep our servers afloat amid ever-increasing costs. As a thank-you, I want to add a reward for Keepers Of Our Server without adding unfair advantage and breaking the game’s balance. Revamp of Older Civilizations CivIdle has received constant updates over the past two years, introducing many new features and mechanics. Some of our older civilizations, which predate these updates, feel a bit out of date. In this update, I am revamping four of our oldest civilizations: Roman, Greek, Egyptian, and Chinese to bring some of these newer mechanics to them in a backward compatible way and put them on the same-ish level as the newer civilizations. Circus Maximus {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43106564/6fe15fbea9e256e261252645ee32c4791f71f0e0.png Old: +5 Happiness. All Musician's Guilds, Writer's Guilds and Painter's Guilds get +1 Production and Storage Multiplier New: +5X Happiness. All Musician's Guilds, Writer's Guilds, and Painter's Guilds gain +X Production and Storage Multipliers. X = this wonder's level Change: Circus Maximus can now be upgraded, and its bonuses scale with its level. Colosseum {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/43106564/32ff97e037ff5cbc2bd105b11951d...
