An NFT shop (that activates your firewall then launches your browser) pretending to be an art exhibition, with no gameplay, and with an amateurish interface (poor camera, Illegible texts in small fonts without background or contrast...)

As innovative and worthy of your time as it is colourful.

Mutus Meteora is a zen like walking sim and art gallery experience.

Your mysterious character walks around the exhibit viewing pieces of art, which get recorded in your collection. These can then be viewed separately. The images are only 2D pictures however and there is no description or interesting commentary associated with them, which was a shame. I got more enjoyment actually looking at the artwork whilst in game, so they really only serve as an indication of what you have and haven't seen.

To collect the images your character needs to find the cross associated with the artwork. Most of the time they are next to the art, but there are a few that can be hidden within the exhibit.

Every museum I have visited prohibits you from touching the exhibits, discouraging children from climbing all over them and damaging them. The bonus of a virtual gallery is that you can do what you want, so feel free to walk up them, knock them over on occasion, and explore to your heart's content. You can adjust the camera or take screenshots using the in game camera to get the best view. Some of the exhibits even offer a virtual reality experience. There are thirty pieces in the exhibit to look at and the whole experience lasts around thirty minutes or less.

I loved the zen like music as you walk around which changes slightly with each piece of art you view, so it is a very relaxing experience, and the shadows can be manipulated by changing the time of day and the position of the Sun, to get a moody screenshot.

I missed out on one piece of artwork called Voyager. There are no clues in the gallery as to where this piece of art is, and the area of the exhibit is not that large, so I expect it is going to be challenging to find. There are no achievements associated for visiting all the exhibits though.

One annoying aspect of the game was that my first play through was completed whilst the camera was zoomed in to the character, as that is the default view. I only realised you could zoom out when I saw the store video, and having the view from afar is so much easier to navigate around. My second play through with the camera away from the exhibit was much more enjoyable.

🍳Conclusion🍳

Mutus Meteora was an interesting game and a very relaxing experience with its zen music and mysterious character with very unusual attire. I guess it is to add an oriental zen feel?

I would have liked to have known more about the artwork in the collection, as the only stimulation was visual, and am surprised there wasn't any information by the exhibit or in the picture gallery. Personally, it would have been nice to have achievements, as this would have been a nice reward for finding the art, which has a few difficult ones to find.

The experience only lasts fifteen to thirty minutes and is free to play so if you're looking to kill a few minutes of time and enjoy a bit of culture then give it a go.
