Hello everyone! It’s been a while since our last FAQ update. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been focused on coding and fixing bugs, and we finally have enough solid progress to share. Before diving in, we have some exciting news: Revelation of Decay has been nominated for “The indiePlay Award (Best Game)” and “Excellence in Game Design” at 2025 indiePlay Awards! This is only possible thanks to your support and feedback! This time, we’ve gathered a set of previews to give you a clearer look at our latest progress and new content. More Sidekicks, Bigger World, Stranger Enemies Many players wanted a larger team, so we’re adding new NPCs to recruit, including Medic, Heavy Gunner, Drunk (yes, he’s actually useful), and more. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45020835/7f880592755b32e3f3d1cf66cb2b508413efd151.png Each NPC will have unique skills, but if you are asking what the Drunk can do… let’s keep it a secret for now. Also, more sidekicks are on the way for you to build your elite squad! We’re also expanding the world again. Following the Outskirts, School, and Snowfield, a new region, the Data Sea, is under development. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45020835/bf8e8977fc38780eff9efbc33d5cef58770e8e0d.png With it comes new enemies, including a boss we’ve prepared a sneak peek for. Get ready to meet this mad octopus in the depths of the Data Sea. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45020835/89a61bf94dc2abf642d89128cb1bd9cf36fe1b0a.png UI Improvements: Quests, Sidekicks, Sleep We’ve also been improving the quality of life with UI revamp. The quest screen now has a clearer hierarchy, distinguishing between main and side quests. We also added quest tracking, skipping, and restarting to address community feedback. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45020835/fe2ba5c3c3af05dd49c32e6f921f701e6ee3f034.png The sidekick panel has been fully redesigned. Each sidekick now has their own page with ability info and animation preview. You can even give them custom nicknames as well. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/45020835/4303eab238285c6644b8f34a376717f72d9...
Hello everyone! Since the release of the two-player co-op Demo during Steam Next Fest, nearly twenty thousand players have jumped into Revelation of Decay. The enthusiasm from all of you survivors has probably outnumbered the zombies themselves (they’re shaking right now)! Your active participation and feedback have helped me discover many valuable issues and have also motivated me even more to continue down this development path. Thank you all sincerely for your support and company along the way. Although Steam Next Fest has officially ended, we noticed that hundreds of players are still playing the demo every day. This truly surprised and encouraged the team. Since many players might not be done with their journey yet, we’ve decided to keep the Demo available for a while longer. While developing daily, I’ve also been paying attention to the discussions and questions players are raising across different communities. Many of the frequently asked questions actually come from the current Demo’s limited content, and also from the game not clearly informing players that “this is the end of the Demo”. Topics such as food decay speed, weapon durability, and sidekick AI are also widely discussed, and they are indeed areas I plan to focus on improving later. So, in this Developer Log, I’d like to respond to these questions in the form of a FAQ: 【About Bugs in the Demo】 Q: Some areas on the map can’t be entered, or the game crashes when I try to go in. Is this a bug? A: Nope, it’s not a bug. Some map areas are simply not available in the current Demo yet—sorry we didn’t explain this clearly in the game! The current Demo contains only part of the full game content to help players experience the basic gameplay. Some already developed content (such as the Snowfield Map we mentioned before) is not presented in its complete form. You may have noticed certain entrances on the map or objects that look like they can be interacted with—but they actually belong to content not included...
