These games in the series usually want you to find TONS of cats. 500, 600 or even 700 hundred of them. Breeze Village was an exception with just 130 pets to find. Now, this latest episode is in between with its 300 kitties. I say this is a sort of perfect number - not too many but not too few, either.
What Fallen Leaves Town lacks compared to previous entries is the animation. Previous episodes allowed us to open doors, trunks of cars or even boxes to find more hidden cats. There were also many balloons we could pop (and again some cats were hidden behind these). In this latest episode the new feature is that once a section is completed that part gains colour.
This definitely helps with completing the entire stage, however, the meowing of cats is still present as a means of assistance. The closer you are to the cat you haven't found in an area (where most of the others have already been revealed), the stronger the meowing gets (with 2 cats remaining close by it can actually get very annoying). So, in a way, given this feature is still there as a sort of alternate hint, the coloration does not really provide additional help - but certainly makes the stage look better as we make progress.
This latest episode is a great addition to an already great series. I miss the part where I could interact with various objects to find more cats. This episode feels a bit more static compared to the rest, however, it still remains to be a relaxing HOG perfect for a hot weekend where under no circumstances do you want to go out.
