After Fallen Leaves Town this has been the 2nd title from Peach Rain presented in colour. But this means we only get to see colours once a section is complete as in we have found all cats there.
The previous title has around 300 cats - double that (roughly) and you get ButtonWood Street. It is a nice HOG that takes around an hour to complete. That is, without using the hint functionality which is a requirement for one of the achievements.
Now, the drawing is nice (as it was the same in earlier titles) and the idea is to add the meowing sound to cats to ensure you get help since avoiding the hint feature is your only option for 100% completion. This noise our feline companions make gets stronger as we get closer to an animal hiding.
And this is also the shortcoming of the game. If you see a relatively large section with several cats that you have been trying to find, they all start crying. Hearing these from 3 or 4 animals can be really annoying (not to mention the intensity with which they do this). One thing ButtonWood Street definitely taught me: patience. And also zoom in to cover a smaller area so that you can focus on fewer cats and reduce their annoying song!
Apart from this the game is great! A lot of things can be interacted with to find hidden cats. A good example is the car where kitties are hiding under the trunk and behind every door. Also, the HUD you can make disappear which is a must since you do not want to accidentally click on anything while you are just looking for a cat in the corner.
ButtonWood Street joins the likes of Amusement Park and Street Market in terms of the number of cats but the developer finally ditched the balloons (Street Market) so we can just focus on what really matters.
