Played the demo, bought the full release and refunded it.
When upgrading in the demo, the balance felt good like I was making steady progress and hitting breakpoints with the farm and my damage, but the full release completely scales the cost/benefit of upgrading unreasonably.
The cost of everything is ridiculous, at 9 warriors you now need to spend 40k to get a 10th, the farm costs like 100k to upgrade from 4k gold per harvest. The cost basically jumps a multiple of 5-10x for no reason. You cannot just buy units anymore cause after around 10 of any unit the cost of the next then sky rockets. I was upgrading a unit and for some reason the cost goes from like 40k to 600k? Like wtf?
Poison is also no longer useful in the earlygame and only really useful in the later stages because you have to stack 10 times more poison each time, 7/77/777. I get this fixes the issue of poison originally being useless in the late game, cause 3000 damage becomes nothing, but in the mid game, you never get the poison stacked to 777 and by the time i stack to 77, the boss is almost dead already.
Devs lost the plot thinking this is a AAA title that needs 30 hours of gameplay, and I heard it will take you 30 hours to complete this grind. Why? Increasing timers and slowing progress just isn't fun, the demo felt way better at pacing.
TLDR; The demo respected your time, and the full release doesn't.
