Grow Harvest Repeat is a relaxing farming sim where you grow, harvest, sell, and upgrade your little garden into a blooming business, all at your own pace.
This game is in early access and is constantly updated so it goes without saying that the game is continuing to grow with new features.
Settings & features include; display options, window size, brightness, graphics (low, med, or high), and audio controls.
I am writing out the basics here that I picked up from playing as there is no tutorial. Most is easy to learn just by playing but here are some quick notes to get you started.
* The game now auto-saves :) How to use the hoe is also now in the game but I will keep my notes in case some need them
The game is divided up into 5 main sections at the start; Skills, Collection, Seed shop, Seeds and Yield. As you play you’ll unlock a map with other areas like the forest where you can go and chop trees. You also eventually unlock (at level 2) the tool shop.
The game starts you out with a few coins to buy seeds to plant so go ahead and buy some at the seed store. There will be a prompt when your garden needs watering. The plants grow fairly quickly. Once grown they will have a spotlight show up on them letting you know they are ready for picking. You harvest them for xp to level up and unlock skills and new areas to farm. You earn coins by selling what you’ve grown under the yield tab.
Make sure you water your plants and they get enough water. Take the water can and hover over the plant to make sure all 3 water drops are coloured in. Once you buy a hoe you’ll see grass and weeds grow in your garden boxes, just hoe them to clean them. You can hoe the garden while plants grow, it will not harm them!
At level 5 you can upgrade your tools by buying upgrades in the tool shop and you can start to craft. You can buy a grill and a salad maker at the start to make foods to sell.
Visually the game has a nice interface with vibrant colours. You can see your plants grow with animations separating the different levels of growth. The music is very relaxing and quite enjoyable.
This game is very relaxing. I have gotten to a point where I’ve done everything so far there is to really do in the early access stage that the game is currently at. Some of the later levels and unlocks are not in the game yet. But what I have played so far was very enjoyable. I look forward to seeing what new features and crafting recipes are in store down the road. 🌿
