Kin and Quarry tasks you with excavating essence from progressively deeper layers to nurture your Evertree, recruiting workers and purchasing upgrades along the way. The core loop—mine, upgrade, repeat—delivers engaging early momentum, but progression sharply plateaus mid-game, leaving players grinding against steep resource walls. Best suited for those with patience for extended idle sessions, though the steep price point may not justify the limited playtime for most.

Another one of those "rapid progression initially, grinds down to a halt after a little bit" games. A slog. Doesn't feel rewarding or respective of your time for an idle game.
Feels like I got finessed into going just past the 2-hour refund window to get a spit in the face, esp. considering this game costs twice as much as most other short incremental games.

The game is fun till level 9. then comet to a halt, needs to be rebalanced. at level 9 my interest made a step change downward big time.

i finished it 100% and i had fun because i like grinding but it costs 8,77€ (discounted) and i finished it in less than 5 hours.
i kind of regret buying it.
i wish i could give it mixed.

1.0.2b (Artifact hotfix)

Fixed: Artifacts would roll for the highest tier first before checking for lower tiers. This ended up being coded in such a way that if you were very deep into the game and still lacked lesser tier artifacts, they'd be impossible to find because you'd always be rolling for the highest tier with no fallback. I feel very dumb for this, but it's now fixed.

1.0.2a

Fixed: Artifacts would incorrectly try to be created in layers that have no blocks, such as in the case of adjusting your Starting Layer, which would make finding the artifacts needlessly difficult. Fixed: Fireflies can now spawn in all layers. Please let me know in the Steam Discussion Boards if you continue to have situations where artifacts are very very difficult to find. Please include which layer you're starting on and which artifacts are missing. I believe the bug has been fixed, but if not, I'll need those extra details. Thank you.
