Legends of Dragaea is a first-person idle dungeon crawler where you automate combat across a sprawling continent while managing guild operations and crafting your own build through a classless skill system. The game pairs engaging visuals and old-school RPG aesthetics with idle progression that stays entertaining to watch, making it appealing to players seeking depth beyond typical incremental games.

For an idle game, it's quite enticing to stick around to watch. Typically you can leave these games running in the background, but it leaves you wanting to stay in, this time around.
The games visuals are very well done and the gameplay pacing and progression works wonderfully hand-in-hand. Gear is easy to sift through and identify what you want, as you will be getting a lot of gear. Establishing parties includes picking what mercenary you want to hire from their starting skills to their races, as races have racial benefits/skills.
The gameplay loop itself is very simple, enter a dungeon, pick your amount of runs, and let it play. Dungeons level up which let you invest points into various bonuses to adjust your runs and chances. Eventually you unlock 'boss' dungeons which essentially dumb dungeons down to much tougher 3-party runs with super bosses. These are VERY rewarding and feel awesome to complete their first time around You return to town, hand in your quests, level your guild, and upgrade your town. There's many additional little features you can do inbetween dungeons (core gameplay loop) and the rest, which ties it all in together
The games soundtrack works well with its visuals and style, and I was quite surprised. It's not egregious or intoxicating, and the dungeons vibes are so well done.
I want more. Can't wait for the game to be out in full after playing this demo and the one before.
I don't think there's anything else on the market that's quite like Dragaea. It's an idler that's fun to watch, has some great animations and music, hits that sweet spot in the era of old school RPG nostalgia, and has character progression that feels open and deep.
My current gripes with the demo are:
- there's no rarity sort option in the equipment/inventory window; it's also a little annoying for the game to snap back to the first page of equipment after equipping something on a character
- I wished the x1 speed was a bit faster, I felt like I was moving in slow motion waiting for x2 to unlock
- couldn't access passive perks because it's locked behind the 3rd dungeon :(
Nevertheless, the game is very fun and I can easily see myself sinking a fair bit of time into it.
Heaps of pointless item attributes like in D4 combined with a progression system that is devoid of any semblance of balance or pacing. Add to that a completely broken economic system and lets not forget the atrocious UI that lacks vital information basically everywhere. Thats Legends of Dragaea.
