A decent time waster but nothing more. There's no builds that change the way you play, there's no strategy. You spin your mouse in a circle for 30 seconds then buy upgrades and repeat. Every upgrade makes you do the same thing, there's no variation in the 3 hours of gameplay this game provides.

I enjoyed playing the game, but the reason I'm not recommending it is because its such a short game, you can beat it in an hour and it's not getting any updates. I'd appreciate it a lot if the devs added more content, I don't want to keep buying new games.

Edit: Instead of adding maybe a (free) DLC or update, they're just releasing an entire "sequel" to the game. This just seems like greed to me. Very disappointing.

I don't think this game is bad and it definitely deserves its price
yet I am ranking this game negatively as it has way too many weaknesses to recommend it
4 hours is what it took to 100% it btw

The Mine, the one way to generate passive income is simply never worth investing a single penny. I understand if the game was a longer, more idle focused experience, but as it is, playing actively was more effective in every conceivable way.

The artifacts were great, but considering you have a whole 2 talent slots dedicated to finding them, you'd expect there to be more to them.
The talents themselves swing between amazing and awful, and considering just how big the gap between obtaining a new talent is, many felt insanely underwhelming, especially in late game.
The D100 especially, I got a single roll in my 100 runs since I unlocked it, which checks out statistically, but it feels sad to grind levels for half an hour, for an ability that only triggered once. Maybe the 5x effect should be nerfed and more effects for other outcomes should be present.
Generally, maybe the talents and artifacts system may have been better nerfed, yes this reduces the mechanical complexity of the game, but a single solid system feels better than 2 underbaked ones.

The game had a perfectly slow beginning, a way too exciting middle and a very boring end.
I feel like all the fun abilities, lightning, plasma, beams, dynamite, should have been spread out more between ores. So you unlock them more gradually and make the experience more exciting throughout the whole game.
The way how all upgrades for the last 3 ores felt marginal, was a bit sad.

"More Talent Points" should have been retroactive. I didn't even get to benefit from the last one at all, as I unlocked it so late, the next talent unlock was literal hours away and not worth it.

Bug fix!

There has been a lot of reports of a bug that causes rocks to not be mined. The rocks would be mined normally in the beginning but as you progress the pickaxes would start to hit the rocks without dealing damage. This bug has now been fixed. You might be wondering what caused this bug. Well, it was the "It's Hammer Time" talent upgrade. When a pickaxe would spawn as a hammer, which is a 0.4% chance, the collider would change. The next time this pickaxe would spawn, the collider would not reset, which means it would be a normal pickaxe with a wrong collider. This explains why it takes some time before this bug is noticeable and why it just get's worse and worse as you play.

Keep on Mining! - Worlds, the sequel to Keep on Mining!, now has a store page!

For the last few months, I've been working hard on the sequel to Keep on Mining! I did mention a while ago that I was considering making a sequel, and after a lot of planning and brainstorming on whether to keep expanding KOM! with updates/DLC's or go all in on a sequel, I landed on a sequel. The sequel keeps the core gameplay loop from KOM!, but adds a LOT more content. The biggest addition (as you can probably tell from the name) is more worlds (levels). The skill tree is larger, meaning more upgrades. There are more pickaxes, and now you can both craft and upgrade them. There are also more artifacts, featuring four rarity tiers, plus even more cool stuff! The price and release date aren’t decided yet, but keep an eye out for a future announcement! 🙂Check out the store page and give it a wishlist!Remember to Keep on Mining!
