Desktop Colony lets you manage a growing space settlement that quietly expands in the background while you work or browse. You'll mine asteroids, construct ships, research technologies, and gradually unlock new planetary systems through a straightforward incremental loop with light automation. The game offers a relaxing, low-pressure experience with some mechanical depth, though expect a relatively brief campaign that winds down into repetitive grinding.
About this game
A cosy incremental semi-idle space colony management game that sits on your desktop while you do other things. Mine asteroids, build ships, expand the colony, research technology, uncover mysteries and explore the universe.

I'll give it a thumbs up, but it's a very very short game. The end game is a needless grind - though fortunately it's not that long. I got it on sale, and I think it's fine, though tbh the original price is way too high for this.
If you encountered the black screen bug here is a potential fix:Right click on the game in your steam libraryClick Installed Files > BrowseRight click on the game exe, Click on propertiesUnder Compatibility, Check the Disable full-screen optimisations boxClick OK
Added a new windowed mode that lets you play the game in a resizable window in case transparency doesn't work and you don't want to play in full screen mode.Use the launch command: -windowed The game UI will remain inside the window while you resize it. This method bypasses the win32 api so should work in every instance but there will be a border on the window as a result. Hope this helps! ːsteamhappyː
Fixed a crash when unplugging a controller. Did I mention there's controller support? Just switch to full screen mode and pick up a controller and mine away on the sofa. ːsteamhappyː We're at 7 reviews now, just 3 more to go to get steam rated! ːPierheadSumoː
