A preview of upcoming features for Stardust Sandbox

Hello everyoneIn this post, I'd like to share a bit of what is being developed for upcoming updates to Stardust Sandbox. First of all, I sincerely appreciate the support and feedback received since the game's release on Steam. Building a project like this requires a lot of dedication, and seeing the game grow, even slowly, is incredibly rewarding. Although the gaps between updates can sometimes be longer than expected, this happens because many changes require planning, testing, and internal restructuring to ensure a solid foundation for the project's future. It's also important to remember that much of the content shown here is still in development and may change before its official release. Some features may also arrive gradually in the game. With that said, here are the updates!1. New Features1.1. Journal SystemOne of the current development goals is to encourage more exploration and experimentation. During some tests, we noticed many players tend to use only a small portion of the available elements, leaving several mechanics and interactions less visible during the experience. To help with this, we are developing a journal system that will function like an in-game encyclopedia. The journal will be filled gradually as the player discovers new content. For example, when a player uses an element for the first time, a new entry will be unlocked containing basic information about it. As new interactions and reactions are discovered, additional information will be recorded. The goal is not to create a grind system, but to encourage curiosity and reward natural exploration.Figure 1 - Main journal layout.Figure 2 - Detailed entry layout.1.2. New Elements and EntitiesThe development of new elements and entities continues to progress steadily. Some content planned for the previous update was delayed due to prioritization of other systems, but it remains in development for future versions of the game.Planned additions include:New types of vegetationVines and flower speciesBGO...

Hello! This update introduces important improvements to the game's functionality and several internal adjustments that make the experience more stable, organized, and consistent. During this development cycle, the main focus was on improving the project structure and refining some behaviors of the world simulation. What changed? The rendering system was integrated more efficiently into the game. Improvements to the internal behavior of components, making initialization simpler and more reliable. Adjustments to the vaporization and rainfall systems for more balanced behavior. Added enhanced support for points within the simulation world. Complete reorganization of the project's internal structure to facilitate future expansions. Important fixes Fixed an issue involving density interaction between liquids and mobile solids. Resolved a bug where some mobile solids could become stuck when contacting liquids. Internal improvements In addition to visible changes, several parts of the code were reorganized and cleaned up to improve maintainability, stability, and readiness for new features in upcoming versions. Thank you for following the project's development.

This update aims to introduce small optimizations and improvements to the game, enhancing the overall experience. Below is a list of the main changes: Some Gul save properties have been renamed UI construction now relies on a more robust and less resource-intensive algorithm, resulting in a slight performance improvement A shortcut has been added to toggle between Fullscreen and Windowed mode (default key is F11, but it can be changed in the settings menu) Item variants (such as different types of wool, dyes, and brushes) have been simplified and unified under a shared code structure, optimizing their behavior and removing structural redundancies Local achievement synchronization has been fixed; players will no longer unlock all achievements upon launching the game Overall, these are minor changes, but they contribute to a more consistent experience. The goal is to ensure the game remains enjoyable and engaging.
